\"MONOPOLY_BOX\"<\/a>A while back, Monopoly made news when they announced they were adding different pieces to the classic set.\u00a0 But what they did not mention was that they got rid of my favorite piece: the iron!\u00a0 Now, granted, this was an old timey iron that you didn\u2019t even plug in.\u00a0 But still, for some reason, I liked it, and now it\u2019s gone.\u00a0 I guess that\u2019s progress for you.\u00a0 Now Monopoly is progressing even further with Monopoly Plus.\u00a0 It\u2019s a downloadable electronic version of the classic board game, available for Microsoft\u2019s and Sony\u2019s current home game consoles (reviewed on 360 here).\u00a0 Sadly, the iron isn\u2019t in this one either, but if you enjoy playing Monopoly but don\u2019t like having to count money or keep up with those little house pieces, you may want to check into this.<\/p>\n

There are two boards that you can pick from, the classic one and the Plus board which has a city landscape all about it.\u00a0 But aside from aesthetics, both boards are really the same.\u00a0 There are other boards you can download extra as well.\u00a0 Play with classic rules or with a new speed dice set.\u00a0 The special speed die is red and can send you directly to property to buy or pay on if somebody else owns it.\u00a0 But it really doesn\u2019t make the game go too much faster.\u00a0 You can also select certain \u2018House Rules\u2019 like whoever gets to a certain amount of cash, wins.\u00a0 Up to four can play locally or online, with one or more controllers (although it\u2019s easier if everyone has their own).\u00a0 I\u2019m not really a big fan of Monopoly as it takes too long to play, but luckily here you can save your game and come back to it later.\u00a0 Only problem I had was that it was hard to figure out how to barter and trade properties with other players.\u00a0 But again, people who enjoy playing the game with their family and friends may want to try it.<\/p>\n

Reading skill is helpful for the text, as well as understanding the more complicated rules.\u00a0 Although the game does a good job of filling you in on what to do regardless.\u00a0 Older kids who enjoy playing board games with others will get the most enjoyment out of this. \u00a0Monopoly Plus is rated E for Everyone.<\/p>\n
