\"FALLOUT1\"<\/a>Fallout is a super popular post-apocalyptic action RPG shooter series, and the newest game, Fallout 4, was recently released.\u00a0 It\u2019ll probably end up being one of the big Christmas titles this season, so you\u2019ll want to be prepared with the Fallout 4 Vault Dweller\u2019s Survival Guide.\u00a0 It\u2019s a robust, super-thick paperback strategy guide, and we\u2019ll take a look at a few sample pages in this review.<\/p>\n

One neat thing about the guide is that they wrote it like it was a survival book for vault dwellers venturing into the radioactive outside world.\u00a0 They warn you of dangers, discourage you from going outside at every turn, and there are plenty of funny pictures of Vault Boy.\u00a0 Plus they scatter various ads and propaganda from the game every few pages, so it\u2019s a fun read. Here\u2019s a closer shot of the cover.<\/p>\n

\"FALLOUT1\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The first part of the book is just an intro and has various info on your items, tools, and stats.\u00a0 These stats spell out the acronym S.P.E.C.I.A.L. and represent aspects like Strength, Perception, Endurance, etc.\u00a0 Here\u2019s an example of one of those pages:<\/p>\n

There\u2019s also an extensive section on the enemies you can encounter and fight, so here\u2019s a page from that:<\/p>\n

Other parts in the intro include a guide on weapons, apparel, armor, and other goodies.\u00a0 After that is the guide to main quests.\u00a0 Here is an example page from that.\u00a0 I wish they could\u2019ve put in maps on the same pages as the quests, but the guide is pretty big enough as it is!<\/p>\n

The quest guide also includes random encounters, side quests, and workshops.\u00a0 And speaking of maps, the last big section has very comprehensive full color maps for all the areas.\u00a0 Here\u2019s a sample:<\/p>\n

After that is a radio guide and an appendix, and that\u2019s all that\u2019s in the guide!\u00a0 My only problem with it is the text is a little small, but other than that, I think this would be a must-have book for any Fallout fan.\u00a0 While some of the mock ads are a little racy, the rest of the guide is fairly readable for all ages.\u00a0 But since it\u2019s a guide for an M rated game, keep that in mind when you\u2019re around kids.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
