\"DQBUILD1\"<\/a>I played Dragon Quest Builders at PAX West this year and it was one of my favorite games of the show.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>It\u2019s basically a combination of Dragon Quest and Minecraft.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>Those two game series are very robust, so you know you\u2019ll need a comprehensive guide if you get stuck or don\u2019t want to miss out on secrets.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>Luckily Prima Games has you covered with the Dragon Quest Builders strategy guide!<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>Let\u2019s take a look inside and see what\u2019s all in there!<\/span><\/p>\n

The first part of the guide covers the Builder Basics.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>These include controls, combat, building items, and characters you\u2019ll meet.<\/span><\/p>\n

The next part of the guide covers the Story Mode in the world of Alefgard.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>I think the best part of this guide are the overhead maps you get.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>Here\u2019s an example:<\/span><\/p>\n

The guide also covers everything you can do in Free Play mode, which seems just as robust, if not more so, than Story Mode!<\/span><\/p>\n

And that\u2019s only a little over half the guide right there.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>The other half is nothing but appendix information.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n

You\u2019ll get charts and descriptions of everything in the game.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>Including all manner of crafting material, building blocks, items you can craft, decorations, food, medicine, tools, weapons, armor, accessories, rooms, fishing, and a full bestiary of all the monsters you fight.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>Here\u2019s a picture of the last page of the bestiary.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>I put it in because it had some good Akira Toriyama artwork on it.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"DQBUILD6\"<\/a><\/p>\n

And the last part of the guide covers the trophies you earn and the DLC items.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>Only main problem I had with the guide is some of the text is a little small.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>The other beef I had with the guide isn\u2019t really a problem, just a minor quibble.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>I\u2019m a big fan of Akira Toriyama\u2019s artwork, and he does all of it for the Dragon Quest games.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>He also did the art for Chrono Trigger as well as popular manga and cartoons like Dragon Ball.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>I kind of wish there was more artwork of his in this guide, but considering it\u2019s a strategy guide and not an artbook, I guess it\u2019s better to have less pictures and more content anyway.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>This is definitely a guide you\u2019ll want to buy, though.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>A game like this would be really hard to play with a FAQ on the Internet, as the book is way more organized for quick reference.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
