{"id":15806,"date":"2016-12-19T00:01:52","date_gmt":"2016-12-19T00:01:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/?p=15806"},"modified":"2016-11-17T14:41:06","modified_gmt":"2016-11-17T14:41:06","slug":"cartoon-network-battle-crashers-3ds-ps4-xbox-one","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/2016\/12\/19\/cartoon-network-battle-crashers-3ds-ps4-xbox-one\/","title":{"rendered":"Cartoon Network Battle Crashers (3DS, PS4, Xbox One)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/cn_box\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-15797\" src=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/CN_BOX-137x150.jpg\" alt=\"CN_BOX\" width=\"137\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/CN_BOX-137x150.jpg 137w, http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/CN_BOX-273x300.jpg 273w, http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/CN_BOX.jpg 340w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 137px) 100vw, 137px\" \/><\/a>Uncle Grandpa accidentally shifts his RV into Dimension Break gear and ends up crashing through all sorts of Cartoon Network worlds.\u00a0 Now it\u2019s up to him, Steven Universe, Finn and Jake from Adventure Time, Gumball, Clarence, and Mordecai and Rigby from Regular Show to fight enemies across all their universes in this arcade style action sidescrolling beat \u2018em up.\u00a0 It\u2019s available for 3DS, PS4, and Xbox One, but reviewed on 3DS here.<\/p>\n<p>There are six worlds with two levels apiece, plus a boss battle for each area.\u00a0 Each character has weak, strong, and special attacks that they can unlock when you level up.\u00a0 Collect gems from defeated enemies and destructible objects to gain levels.\u00a0 Gather healing food items and other power-ups as well.\u00a0 Switch characters by pressing the L and R buttons or tapping on the touch screen.\u00a0 Make sure they don\u2019t run out of energy or you won\u2019t be able to use that character for the rest of the level.\u00a0 Watch out for spots on the ground that can poison, burn, or electrify you.\u00a0 Some characters\u2019 attacks can nullify these effects.\u00a0 Gumball\u2019s vacuum cleaner can blow poison away, and Clarence\u2019s soda guns can douse out fires.\u00a0 Steven Universe can break enemies\u2019 shields easier.\u00a0 It\u2019s up to you to discover each characters\u2019 strengths and weaknesses.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, the game has quite a few problems that keep it from being truly great.\u00a0 Hit detection is poor, and the game is awfully repetitive.\u00a0 Especially since they make you revisit older areas to artificially lengthen the game, and you fight the same old enemies (mostly penguins and banana guards from Adventure Time).\u00a0 Sometimes they try to mix things up, like in Gumball\u2019s school library level, you can\u2019t attack too many times or the librarian will shush you and you\u2019ll be stunned for a while, but this ends up being more annoying than anything.
