{"id":15892,"date":"2016-12-28T00:01:59","date_gmt":"2016-12-28T00:01:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/?p=15892"},"modified":"2016-12-03T21:52:02","modified_gmt":"2016-12-03T21:52:02","slug":"new-zelda-amiibo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/2016\/12\/28\/new-zelda-amiibo\/","title":{"rendered":"New Zelda Amiibo"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/amiibo_logo-13\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-15888\" src=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/AMIIBO_LOGO-150x53.jpg\" alt=\"AMIIBO_LOGO\" width=\"150\" height=\"53\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/AMIIBO_LOGO-150x53.jpg 150w, http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/AMIIBO_LOGO-300x105.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/AMIIBO_LOGO.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a>I just got a new batch of amiibo figures, this time they are Legend of Zelda based.\u00a0 I guess to correspond with the 30<sup>th<\/sup> Anniversary of the Zelda franchise, at least according to the boxes.\u00a0 So let\u2019s take a look at them!<\/p>\n<p>Here they are still in their boxes.\u00a0 On top is a two-pack of Wind Waker Link and Zelda.\u00a0 Down below is 8-bit Link and Ocarina of Time Link.\u00a0 My favorite is the 8-bit Link, as the original Legend of Zelda on the NES is still one of my favorite Zelda games.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/zelda1-3\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-15889\" src=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/ZELDA1.jpg\" alt=\"ZELDA1\" width=\"500\" height=\"732\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/ZELDA1.jpg 500w, http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/ZELDA1-102x150.jpg 102w, http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/ZELDA1-205x300.jpg 205w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Here they are out of their boxes.\u00a0 I\u2019m not that excited about Ocarina of Time Link, but I figure they\u2019d have to put him in here since that game is so popular.\u00a0 Wind Waker Link and Zelda are all right.\u00a0 But like I said, my favorite is 8-bit Link.\u00a0 He reminds me of the 8-bit Mario amiibo they released last year around the time of Super Mario Maker.\u00a0 The new amiibo figures act like the Smash Bros. Link and Zelda figures when you scan them.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/zelda2-4\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-15890\" src=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/ZELDA2.jpg\" alt=\"ZELDA2\" width=\"500\" height=\"262\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/ZELDA2.jpg 500w, http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/ZELDA2-150x79.jpg 150w, http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/ZELDA2-300x157.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>One interesting thing about the 8-bit Link amiibo that took me by surprise and you wouldn\u2019t see it if you just looked at the front is that he carries his White Sword on his back (see picture).\u00a0 I have mixed feelings about this.\u00a0 On one hand, he looks cooler with a sword on his back and it adds a nice splash of color.\u00a0 But at the same time, it makes the figure not feel as authentic since Link never had a sword on his back in the original Legend of Zelda.\u00a0 But it\u2019s just a figurine, so I\u2019m not THAT upset about it!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/zelda3-3\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-15891\" src=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/ZELDA3.jpg\" alt=\"ZELDA3\" width=\"500\" height=\"690\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/ZELDA3.jpg 500w, http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/ZELDA3-109x150.jpg 109w, http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/12\/ZELDA3-217x300.jpg 217w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And that\u2019s all the new amiibo.\u00a0 I can\u2019t wait to see what new amiibo Nintendo releases next year in 2017!\u00a0 Hope I can get them all!\u00a0 &#8211;Cary<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I just got a new batch of amiibo figures, this time they are Legend of Zelda based.\u00a0 I guess to correspond with the 30th Anniversary of the Zelda franchise, at least according to the boxes.\u00a0 So let\u2019s take a look at them!
