Looks like McDonald\u2019s is doing Mario toys in their Happy Meals again.\u00a0 I don\u2019t know when they started or how long this promotion lasts, so I wanted to post this as quickly as possible so it would at least be topical for a little while.\u00a0 Click on the link to see pictures and read more details.<\/p>\n

So here is a picture of all the toys directly from McDonald\u2019s web site.\u00a0 There are 8 in all, and include Mario, Yoshi, Luigi in a pipe, a Koopa Shell, 1up Mushroom, Bowser, and Peach.\u00a0 Supposedly you can go on the web site and click on the toys and see what they do.\u00a0 Too bad they won\u2019t branch out and feature toys from other Nintendo franchises, like Kirby or Zelda.\u00a0 Oh well.<\/p>\n

I managed to get three of the toys myself already, so here they are.\u00a0 Also pictured is the box.\u00a0 One side features Mario and that new freaky Happy Meal box mascot.\u00a0 He looks weird dressed as Mario.\u00a0 I guess they don\u2019t even use Ronald McDonald anymore.\u00a0 When I was a kid, we had toys and commercials with all the McDonaldland characters, like Grimace and the Hamburglar.\u00a0 I guess it\u2019s just a sign of the times.\u00a0 The other side of the box has a contest you can enter to win a Nintendo Switch.\u00a0 I guess that\u2019s why they\u2019re doing this whole promotion, to raise interest for the Switch.\u00a0 On the other side of the box, not pictured, are the Happy Meal box smile logo and an ad for the Ronald McDonald House. It\u2019s nice to know they still put Happy Meals in these boxes I had when I was a kid, and they\u2019re still doing the Ronald McDonald House charity as well.\u00a0 Also pictured is the milk jug because it has Mario characters on it.<\/p>\n

The first toy I got was Invincible Mario.\u00a0 At first when the drive thru lady said it, I thought she said \u201cInvisible Mario.\u201d\u00a0 That would be a pretty cheap tactic.\u00a0 Just don\u2019t put a toy in there and say, \u201cUh, yeah, it\u2019s invisible.\u201d\u00a0 BUT ANYWAY, Invincible Mario has a switch and you can flip it to make Mario light up different colors and flash.\u00a0 It\u2019s pretty neat.\u00a0 It would\u2019ve been cooler if they had a sound chip that plays the Invincible theme, but I guess that would be asking too much.<\/p>\n

Another toy I got was Bowser.\u00a0 He has two sticks you can put in his mouth that look like fireballs, and then you can press a button on his back to make him shoot them out.\u00a0 They shoot out pretty far and fast. I\u2019m surprised they even did that.\u00a0 Seems a little dangerous.\u00a0 The last toy I got was Yoshi.\u00a0 You can push the saddle\/shell button on his back to make his tongue stick out, but it barely goes past his nose.\u00a0 Everyone knows Yoshi can stick his tongue out farther than that.\u00a0 He just looks like Apathetic Yoshi here.\u00a0 But otherwise it\u2019s still a nice toy.\u00a0 And that\u2019s all I\u2019ve got for now!\u00a0 Later!\u00a0 –Cary<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
