{"id":16497,"date":"2017-05-29T00:01:27","date_gmt":"2017-05-29T00:01:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/?p=16497"},"modified":"2017-05-10T01:34:06","modified_gmt":"2017-05-10T01:34:06","slug":"cooking-mama-sweet-shop-3ds","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/2017\/05\/29\/cooking-mama-sweet-shop-3ds\/","title":{"rendered":"Cooking Mama: Sweet Shop (3DS)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/mama_box-3\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-16482\" src=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/MAMA_BOX-150x137.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"137\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/MAMA_BOX-150x137.jpg 150w, http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/MAMA_BOX.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a>The most popular mother in gaming is back on the 3DS with Cooking Mama: Sweet Shop.\u00a0 This time the recipes you bake are all desserts: cakes, cookies, and other sweet stuff.\u00a0 Just like before, you\u2019ll use the stylus and touch screen to perform cooking activities like chopping, sifting, cracking, and baking.\u00a0 Each recipe (over 60 in all) has multiple steps for you to complete in order, and you\u2019ll be ranked at the end on how well you do.\u00a0 But this time you\u2019ll be able to present your sugary concoctions in your very own Sweet Shop for customers to buy!<\/p>\n<p>The main cooking part of the game is exactly like how it has been in previous Cooking Mama titles.\u00a0 So if you are familiar with any other games in the franchise, you\u2019ll be able to jump right into this one.\u00a0 Once you are done with a recipe, you can display your creations in the Sweet Shop.\u00a0 When customers come into the store, they may buy one of your desserts on display.\u00a0 You can then spend your earnings to decorate your kitchen and shop.\u00a0 You may even unlock other surprises along the way as well.<\/p>\n<p>The only problem I can see with this game is that it\u2019s not any different than past Cooking Mama titles.\u00a0 But that\u2019s not necessarily a bad thing since these games are clearly aimed at a younger audience, and with each new generation of kid players comes a new Cooking Mama game, so it\u2019s all new to them.\u00a0 They\u2019ve fixed most of the other problems I\u2019ve had with the series.\u00a0 The font and instructions are easier to read, and fewer and fewer mini-games are hard to figure out.\u00a0 If you crave your \u2018just desserts\u2019 you\u2019ll definitely enjoy this game.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/mama_screeen\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-16483\" src=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/MAMA_SCREEEN.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"480\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/MAMA_SCREEEN.jpg 400w, http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/MAMA_SCREEEN-125x150.jpg 125w, http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/MAMA_SCREEEN-250x300.jpg 250w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Kid Factor:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Cooking Mama: Sweet Shop is rated E for Everyone with an ESRB descriptor of Alcohol Reference.\u00a0 You can cook with alcohol in some of the recipes, but that\u2019s it.\u00a0 Reading skill is helpful for the text instructions, but not always necessary as the mini-games have picture cues to go along with them.\u00a0 If you mess up, you\u2019re not penalized in any way other than a lower score at the end.\u00a0 Mama doesn\u2019t even have her scary fiery eyes anymore!
