{"id":16522,"date":"2017-06-05T00:01:30","date_gmt":"2017-06-05T00:01:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/?p=16522"},"modified":"2017-05-16T12:05:58","modified_gmt":"2017-05-16T12:05:58","slug":"lego-dimensions-lego-city-fun-pack","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/2017\/06\/05\/lego-dimensions-lego-city-fun-pack\/","title":{"rendered":"LEGO Dimensions LEGO City Fun Pack"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/?attachment_id=16504\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-16504\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-16504\" src=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/CITY_BOX-150x148.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"148\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/CITY_BOX-150x148.jpg 150w, http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/CITY_BOX-300x296.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/CITY_BOX.jpg 500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a>After being a Wii U exclusive during its lifespan, LEGO City: Undercover was recently released for nearly all current consoles.\u00a0 You play as Chase McCain, a heroic undercover police officer who is also a master of disguise.\u00a0 It plays a lot like Grand Theft Auto, only that it\u2019s also family friendly and full of LEGOs.\u00a0 It\u2019s actually one of the better LEGO games I\u2019ve played and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/2017\/05\/10\/lego-city-undercover-ps4-switch-wii-u-xbox-one-pc\/\"><strong>I recently reviewed it<\/strong><\/a>.\u00a0 Now you can extend the fun of that game with the LEGO City Fun Pack for LEGO Dimensions.\u00a0 It\u2019s available for nearly all current consoles, but reviewed on Wii U here.<\/p>\n<p>LEGO Dimensions is essentially like Skylanders except the figures you get are made out of LEGOs that you must build.\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/2015\/12\/04\/the-portals-of-lego-dimensions\/\"><strong>I even wrote a big article about LEGO Dimensions a while back that you can read if you want more information.<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0 The LEGO City Fun Pack includes a playable character and vehicle and also unlocks a special hub world and battle arena.\u00a0 Here is a closer shot of the box.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/city_box-2\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-16504\" src=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/CITY_BOX.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"494\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/CITY_BOX.jpg 500w, http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/CITY_BOX-150x148.jpg 150w, http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/CITY_BOX-300x296.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Like with other LEGO Dimensions sets, first you build the figure and they give you instructions to build the vehicle during the game.\u00a0 You get Chase McCain as a playable character.\u00a0 He has his trusty grappling hook that can latch on to certain structures so you can pull up to higher ledges, swing from the rope, or pull things down to you.\u00a0 I\u2019m not sure if you can don disguises like in the original game.\u00a0 The vehicle you get is a police helicopter, a handy flying vehicle.\u00a0 You can upgrade the vehicle if you so wish.\u00a0 Here is a shot of the figures all built and out of the box.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/city_fig\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-16505\" src=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/CITY_FIG.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"297\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/CITY_FIG.jpg 500w, http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/CITY_FIG-150x89.jpg 150w, http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/CITY_FIG-300x178.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The hub world you get is like a mini version of LEGO City.\u00a0 You have all the familiar locations: the police and fire stations, Bluebell Park, Blackwell Towers, Bright Lights Plaza, Apollo Island, and more.\u00a0 There are missions to complete and things to build that give you gold bricks and other goodies.\u00a0 Ellie will even call you on the radio if there are nearby criminals to battle.\u00a0 It\u2019s a great way to revisit the fun of the full game.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kid Factor:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>LEGO Dimensions is rated E-10 with ESRB descriptors of Cartoon Violence and Crude Humor.
