{"id":16561,"date":"2017-06-19T00:01:27","date_gmt":"2017-06-19T00:01:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/?p=16561"},"modified":"2017-05-24T09:06:18","modified_gmt":"2017-05-24T09:06:18","slug":"harvest-moon-lil-farmers-ios-android","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/2017\/06\/19\/harvest-moon-lil-farmers-ios-android\/","title":{"rendered":"Harvest Moon: Lil&#8217; Farmers (iOS, Android)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/harvest_box-4\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-16559\" src=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/HARVEST_BOX-150x88.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"88\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/HARVEST_BOX-150x88.jpg 150w, http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/HARVEST_BOX.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a>The farming simulation series Harvest Moon has been delighting fans for decades.\u00a0 And now there\u2019s a brand new Harvest Moon game especially made just for the youngest farmers in your family.\u00a0 It\u2019s available to download on mobile devices, but reviewed on iPad here.<\/p>\n<p>You control the game simply by tapping and dragging objects around on the touch screen.\u00a0 At the farmhouse, people will come asking for farm products, and you must give them what they want.\u00a0 If they ask for a vegetable, you can go to the garden, tap on a plot of land, pick your vegetable, and then water it and give it plant food when prompted until it\u2019s grown enough to harvest.\u00a0 You can also play a mini-game to gather eggs from chickens, shear sheep for wool, and milk a cow.\u00a0 You can also feed and clean a horse, but I don\u2019t know what good that does.\u00a0 Just another cute little activity, I guess.<\/p>\n<p>The concept is really adorable, and I\u2019d totally recommend this game for little kids.\u00a0 But it still has a few minor problems.\u00a0 You\u2019re not really rewarded for doing anything in this game.\u00a0 So kids might get bored with it after a while.\u00a0 And when you exit the game, it doesn\u2019t save your progress, not like you really make any so it doesn\u2019t really matter.\u00a0 A couple of times I would give a customer what they wanted, and they still said it was wrong, only to take it a few tries later, but I think that\u2019s just a bug that can be fixed in an update.\u00a0 And I have to wonder if they just found some generic preschool farm game and just slapped the Harvest Moon name on it.<\/p>\n<p>But even with those problems, I still think this is a cute little game for younger kids.\u00a0 Heck, even older Harvest Moon fans may enjoy it as a simple time waster or something they can play with the younger set.\u00a0 And it\u2019s not a bad deal at only four bucks.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/harvest_screen-3\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-16560\" src=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/HARVEST_SCREEN.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"312\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/HARVEST_SCREEN.jpg 500w, http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/HARVEST_SCREEN-150x94.jpg 150w, http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/HARVEST_SCREEN-300x187.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Kid Factor:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Nothing objectionable or violent here.\u00a0 Reading skill isn\u2019t necessary, in fact, the game has no words in it at all (probably makes it easier to port this game to other countries).\u00a0 It could also be considered educational, as it shows kids where certain vegetables and farm foods and products come from, as well as counting and sorting skills.\u00a0 Best of all, there are no in-game ads or purchases, so it\u2019s very kid-friendly.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The farming simulation series Harvest Moon has been delighting fans for decades.\u00a0 And now there\u2019s a brand new Harvest Moon game especially made just for the youngest farmers in your family.\u00a0 It\u2019s available to download on mobile devices, but reviewed on iPad here.
