Pikmin, but you could also buy it separately. That’s what I did, but I ended up getting the game, too. Here is a picture of the Pikmin amiibo in the box.

And here it is out of the box.

I’m not a big Pikmin fan, but I have been enjoying Hey! Pikmin quite a bit, since it’s more of a 2-D puzzle platformer. It kind of reminds me of a mix of Chibi-Robo Zip Lash and Kirby Mass Attack. I’ve read that some Pikmin fans don’t like this change, but I think it’s great. But then, I’m used to playing Kirby games where they can change the gameplay drastically from one game to another.

I have to say that amiibo support for Pikmin is great! First of all, at the end of each level you take Pikmin to a safe haven Pikmin Park. If you scan the Pikmin amiibo, it’ll level up when you get more Pikmin. Once per day, you can scan the Pikmin amiibo into a level to give you more Pikmin. The higher your level of your amiibo, the more Pikmin you get to use. It kind of reminds me of how the amiibo support works in Chibi-Robo Zip Lash.

But that’s not all! You can also scan many other amiibo to get statues the Pikmin can collect in the game! The Pikmin amiibo and Olimar Smash Bros. amiibo are compatible, as well as all the Mario series amiibo, most of the Splatoon series (not the new ones from before, though), and ALL the Animal Crossing figures. Not sure why other amiibo like Zelda, Fire Emblem, Kirby, or Smash Bros. ones aren’t compatible, but oh well. Maybe it has something to do with copyrights or ESRB ratings. But even if you do scan a non-compatible amiibo, you can get 10 Sparklium per day. Olimar is trying to collect Sparklium in the game so he can power his ship to go home. Considering you need 30,000 Sparklium, that’s just a drop in the bucket. Compatible amiibo give you much more, though. In fact, by the time I had scanned ALL the amiibo into the game, I was halfway to my goal and I was only on the second world! I love the descriptions Olimar gives the amiibo in the log screen, too! So yeah, Hey! Pikmin is certainly a fun little game.

Anyway, that’s all for now! Later! –Cary

I got another batch of amiibo figures I wanted to share pictures with you all today.
