After setting up camp and choosing your starter Pok\u00e9mon, you\u2019ll send them into stages to battle other Pok\u00e9mon in various locations.\u00a0 You don\u2019t control them directly in battle, they\u2019ll walk around on their own.\u00a0 You can choose to press buttons on screen to select which attacks to use once a timer runs down.\u00a0 But since you\u2019ll want to use the attacks pretty much right when they\u2019re ready, you might as well set this mode to auto where they perform moves on their own.<\/p>\n

After battles, your Pok\u00e9mon will earn experience points to gain levels, as well as items like Power Stones and food ingredients.\u00a0 Equip Power Stones to your Pok\u00e9mon to increase their stats, like hit points and attack power.\u00a0 Mix food ingredients in a pot back at camp to make different kinds of stews.\u00a0 After battling a few times, the stew will be ready and depending on what you put in it, it\u2019ll attract certain Pok\u00e9mon who will become your buddy and fight for you.<\/p>\n

And that\u2019s pretty much the cycle of the game.\u00a0 After beating bosses and earning Poke Mart tickets, you can buy stat boosting decorations to place back at camp.\u00a0 You can get these PM Tickets by performing various activities, or you can buy them with real money.\u00a0 That\u2019s where the in-game purchases come in.\u00a0 While I did like the unique graphic style and the game is a bit addictive at first, I soon realized that not a lot of gameplay is involved and you really don\u2019t do much.\u00a0 So I lost interest in it pretty quickly.\u00a0 Plus I think this game would work better on mobile devices than the Switch.\u00a0 But it\u2019s free so if you\u2019re curious it won\u2019t hurt to download and try it.<\/p>\n

Pok\u00e9mon Quest is rated E for Everyone with an ESRB descriptor of Mild Fantasy Violence.\u00a0 Cubic Pok\u00e9mon ram into each other and perform attacks, and defeated monsters just explode into little cubes.\u00a0 Reading skill is helpful for the text, and parental supervision is recommended for the in-game purchases.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
