{"id":18653,"date":"2019-01-18T00:01:51","date_gmt":"2019-01-18T00:01:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/?p=18653"},"modified":"2019-01-01T15:30:40","modified_gmt":"2019-01-01T15:30:40","slug":"cary-is-looking-forward-in-2019","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/2019\/01\/18\/cary-is-looking-forward-in-2019\/","title":{"rendered":"Cary is Looking Forward in 2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/blathers-2\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-18646\" src=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/BLATHERS-142x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"142\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/BLATHERS-142x150.jpg 142w, http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/BLATHERS-284x300.jpg 284w, http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/BLATHERS.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 142px) 100vw, 142px\" \/><\/a>Normally I do my Game of the Year blog first, and then my blog on what games in 2019 I\u2019m looking forward to.\u00a0 But I\u2019m going to switch it around this year like I did last time.\u00a0 Mainly because there are a couple of releases that are coming up quick, and also I want to try and squeeze a couple more 2018 games in to see if they\u2019ll make my GOTY list.\u00a0 But don\u2019t worry, my Game of the Year blog will go up soon after this one, like in another week or so.\u00a0 In the meantime, here are some games I\u2019m looking forward to playing and reviewing in 2019.\u00a0 Granted there may be more as we get into the year and have Nintendo Directs and E3 announcements and such, but here\u2019s some that I know right now.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Animal Crossing<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Nintendo announced a new Switch Animal Crossing game when they revealed that Isabelle was going to be in Smash, and I couldn\u2019t be more excited.\u00a0 I love playing Animal Crossing games with family and friends, the first one on GameCube is one of my top five favorite games of all time, and heck, I STILL play the mobile game more than a year after it was released!\u00a0 So yeah I\u2019m a little crazy.\u00a0 But I am looking forward to this game the most.\u00a0 Hope it\u2019s not just a port of New Leaf!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kingdom Hearts 3<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This one comes out at the end of January, and I think it\u2019s been more than fifteen years since the last main game!\u00a0 I\u2019m not the BIGGEST Kingdom Hearts fan, as I think the gameplay has some problems and the storyline is garbage.\u00a0 BUT I still enjoy the series enough that I\u2019ve played nearly every one of them, even the mobile titles.\u00a0 I just enjoy tromping around colorful 3-D Disney worlds beating up bad guys, I just don\u2019t pay much attention to the story and I don\u2019t care about what Organization 13 is up to and that sort of stuff.\u00a0 Can\u2019t wait to see the new Winnie the Pooh world, as that was always my favorite in past games.\u00a0 And I love how the old black and white cartoons are now Game &amp; Watch style LCD mini-games!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mario &amp; Luigi: Bowser\u2019s Inside Story + Bowser Jr.\u2019s Journey<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Another early release, this one is a remake of Bowser\u2019s Inside Story on the DS.\u00a0 But that was one of the best Mario RPGs ever made, so I\u2019m looking forward to the remake.\u00a0 It\u2019s very good.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fitness Boxing<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m not really totally looking forward to this one, and I may not get it unless the price goes down, but I\u2019m more just intrigued by this game more than anything.\u00a0 It\u2019s already been released (Jan. 4), and it\u2019s a first party Nintendo title, but they haven\u2019t really promoted it much.\u00a0 So I think that\u2019s just kind of weird.\u00a0 The box art makes me think of an old DS game called Feel the Magic.<\/p>\n<p><strong>LEGO Movie 2 Game<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I enjoyed the first LEGO Movie a LOT, so I\u2019m hoping to see the sequel.\u00a0 I\u2019m sure the game it\u2019s based on will be just a run-of-the-mill LEGO title, but I\u2019m still looking forward to checking it out and hopefully reviewing it.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Yoshi\u2019s Crafted World<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Good Feel makes a lot of awesome 2-D Nintendo platformers.\u00a0 They made Wario Land: Shake It, Kirby\u2019s Epic Yarn, and Yoshi\u2019s Woolly World.\u00a0 And they made this game, too, where everything looks like it was made out of cardboard, paper, and other craft materials.\u00a0 Hope it\u2019s as good as the other ones they\u2019ve made!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kirby\u2019s Extra Epic Yarn<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>And speaking of Good Feel, here\u2019s a 3DS port of Kirby\u2019s Epic Yarn, which was originally on the Wii.\u00a0 Normally I\u2019m not a big fan of all of Nintendo\u2019s ports.\u00a0 I didn\u2019t get Luigi\u2019s Mansion on the 3DS, nor did I get a lot of other Switch ports either.\u00a0 I just don\u2019t feel like playing full price for a game I\u2019ve already played on the Wii U.\u00a0 But I may make an exception for this one because I really like Kirby and this is a great game with awesome music and graphics.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Luigi\u2019s Mansion 3<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I loved the first Luigi\u2019s Mansion game on GameCube and even though the 3DS sequel Dark Moon wasn\u2019t as good, I still enjoyed it a lot.\u00a0 I feel lucky that I was even able to play the arcade game, too!\u00a0 Here\u2019s hoping the third game on the Switch lets you explore one big mansion like the first game and not have mission based mini-mansions like the second one.\u00a0 Either way, I\u2019m sure I\u2019ll play it and enjoy it just fine.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Team Sonic Racing<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I thought this game was coming out during the 2018 holiday season, but I guess they delayed it.\u00a0 Which is fine with me as I wouldn\u2019t have had time to play it then anyway.\u00a0 I\u2019m a big fan of the Sonic and SEGA All-Stars racing games, and parts of them were even better than Mario Kart.\u00a0 Here\u2019s hoping this new game will be as good, too.\u00a0 Only disappointment is the possibility it\u2019ll only have Sonic characters.\u00a0 I sure did enjoy racing as Ulala in the last two games.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Crash Team Racing: Nitro Fueled<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Speaking of mascot kart racers, I didn\u2019t know about this one until just recently.\u00a0 I\u2019m not sure if it\u2019s a remake of the first Crash Team Racing, as there have been sequels to that, even though they\u2019re not as good.\u00a0 But the first CTR was one of the only Crash games I liked, and did some things better than Mario Kart as well.\u00a0 So we\u2019ll just have to see.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Crystal Crisis<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Last year I wrote about a fighting game called Blade Strangers, which had characters from other games like Shovel Knight and whatnot.\u00a0 This year they\u2019re doing the same thing with many of the same characters, except this time with a puzzle game.\u00a0 I like puzzle games better than fighting games, so I\u2019m really looking forward to playing this one.\u00a0 It even adds some new characters, too, like freaking ASTRO BOY!<\/p>\n<p><strong>Toe Jam &amp; Earl: Back in the Groove<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This has actually been out on PC for over a year, but I\u2019ve always thought it should be on consoles so I\u2019m glad it\u2019s now going to be.\u00a0 I\u2019m not the biggest fan of Toe Jam &amp;
