{"id":19270,"date":"2019-08-07T00:01:10","date_gmt":"2019-08-07T00:01:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/?p=19270"},"modified":"2019-08-02T13:00:35","modified_gmt":"2019-08-02T13:00:35","slug":"super-mutant-alien-assault-switch-ps4-vita-xbox-one-pc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/2019\/08\/07\/super-mutant-alien-assault-switch-ps4-vita-xbox-one-pc\/","title":{"rendered":"Super Mutant Alien Assault (Switch, PS4, Vita, Xbox One, PC)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/mutant_box-2\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-19258 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/MUTANT_BOX-150x70.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"70\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/MUTANT_BOX-150x70.jpg 150w, http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/MUTANT_BOX-300x141.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/MUTANT_BOX.jpg 322w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a>In the future, Earth has been destroyed by alien invaders.\u00a0 A few handfuls of humans escape on spaceships, but now the alien invaders have caught up to eradicate them.\u00a0 Now it\u2019s up to a battle droid to defend the spaceships from being overrun by aliens.\u00a0 Super Mutant Alien Assault is an arcade style randomly generated single screen platform jumping shooter, similar to another game I reviewed a while back called <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/2019\/05\/27\/duck-game-switch-ps4-pc\/\"><strong>Duck Game<\/strong><\/a>.\u00a0 It\u2019s available for all current game consoles and PC, but reviewed on Switch here.<\/p>\n<p>Your battle droid can run and jump as well as pick up weapons to shoot.\u00a0 You can also gather sub weapons to give you more firepower.\u00a0 Your goal in each of the levels is to destroy all the aliens, but sometimes there are side goals as well.\u00a0 Like you may need to take fuel to a designated spot, or reach valves before they build too much pressure.\u00a0 You can play single player or work together with a friend in local co-op.\u00a0 You can also unlock an endless mode and secret characters.\u00a0 Just be careful as you can take a few hits, but once your battle droid is destroyed, you have to start over again unless you beat a boss after every four stages.\u00a0 There are only 12 levels, but they are super hard.<\/p>\n<p>And that\u2019s really the main problem I have is the difficulty.\u00a0 I do like the 16-bit styled graphics, but could do without the dubstep music.\u00a0 Plus since the game is randomly generated, parts of it just rely on dumb luck.\u00a0 And there\u2019s not any kind of competitive deathmatch multiplayer option, which would fit perfectly with this kind of game.\u00a0 But if you want a really hard arcade style shooting and jumping game, you may enjoy this one.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/mutant_screen-2\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-19259\" src=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/MUTANT_SCREEN.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"260\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/MUTANT_SCREEN.jpg 500w, http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/MUTANT_SCREEN-150x78.jpg 150w, http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/MUTANT_SCREEN-300x156.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kid Factor:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Super Mutant Alien Assault is rated T for Teen with ESRB descriptors of Violence and Blood.
