{"id":19963,"date":"2020-03-16T00:01:27","date_gmt":"2020-03-16T00:01:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/?p=19963"},"modified":"2020-03-05T16:29:06","modified_gmt":"2020-03-05T16:29:06","slug":"battle-racing-stars-mobile","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/2020\/03\/16\/battle-racing-stars-mobile\/","title":{"rendered":"Battle Racing Stars (Mobile)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/battle_box-3\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-19961\" src=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/BATTLE_BOX-150x69.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"69\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/BATTLE_BOX-150x69.jpg 150w, http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/BATTLE_BOX.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a>In Battle Racing Stars, race as your favorite Halfbrick characters from games like Raskulls, Jetpack Joyride, and Fruit Ninja.\u00a0 You\u2019ll run on 2-D platform stages from those games as you jump and dodge obstacles and try to get first place.\u00a0 It\u2019s available to download free-to-play on mobile devices, but reviewed on iPad here.<\/p>\n<p>Stages will mostly have tiered platforms you can jump up and down from by swiping up and down.\u00a0 It kind of reminds me of arcade classics like Son Son and Psycho Soldier.\u00a0 You\u2019ll want to avoid rocks and sticky floors that can slow you down, and run on speed pads and trampolines to give you a boost.\u00a0 Collect diamonds to refill two buttons on the bottom of the screen.\u00a0 The boost button will give you a burst of speed, and the weapon button will fire a weapon depending on your level.\u00a0 It could be projectiles like missiles or fruit, bombs to lay behind you, or a shield.\u00a0 Try to come in first place at the end of the stage.\u00a0 Sometimes it\u2019s just one lap, other times it may be two.<\/p>\n<p>After winning, a trophy meter will fill and when it reaches a milestone, you\u2019ll unlock something good, such as new stages to race on.\u00a0 You\u2019ll also get booster packs that act like a pack of cards.\u00a0 After waiting a while for them to open, you can get goodies like gold and cards that can level up your characters or unlock new ones.\u00a0 The game claims you\u2019re racing against other people online, but I\u2019m suspicious that it\u2019s like how they trick you to think you\u2019re racing others in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/2019\/10\/18\/mario-kart-tour-mobile\/comment-page-1\/\"><strong>Mario Kart Tour<\/strong><\/a>.\u00a0 It just seems too easy when I race online.\u00a0 But the game is still a fun little time waster and I enjoyed it a lot more than the last Halfbrick crossover game I reviewed: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/2019\/12\/23\/magic-brick-wars-mobile\/\"><strong>Magic Brick Wars<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/battle_screen-3\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-19962\" src=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/BATTLE_SCREEN.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"500\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/BATTLE_SCREEN.jpg 500w, http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/BATTLE_SCREEN-150x150.jpg 150w, http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/BATTLE_SCREEN-300x300.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Kid Factor:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You can fire silly weapons at other runners, but they just let out an \u2018ouch\u2019 and slow down but come back running again.\u00a0 And that\u2019s about as violent as it gets.\u00a0 Reading skill is helpful for the text, and parental supervision is recommended for the in-game ads and purchases.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In Battle Racing Stars, race as your favorite Halfbrick characters from games like Raskulls, Jetpack Joyride, and Fruit Ninja.\u00a0 You\u2019ll run on 2-D platform stages from those games as you jump and dodge obstacles and try to get first place.\u00a0 It\u2019s available to download free-to-play on mobile devices, but reviewed on iPad here.
