{"id":20361,"date":"2020-08-12T00:01:28","date_gmt":"2020-08-12T00:01:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/?p=20361"},"modified":"2020-07-31T12:40:13","modified_gmt":"2020-07-31T12:40:13","slug":"tiny-racer-switch","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/2020\/08\/12\/tiny-racer-switch\/","title":{"rendered":"Tiny Racer (Switch)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/tiny_box-3\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-20359\" src=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/TINY_BOX-150x84.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"84\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/TINY_BOX-150x84.jpg 150w, http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/TINY_BOX.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a>In this 3-D racing game on Switch, choose from a selection of cars and race on tracks in single player or multiplayer.\u00a0 You can do a tournament where you compete on multiple tracks for points, race a single track in an arcade mode, and beat your best times in Time Trial.<\/p>\n<p>Play control is super simple.\u00a0 One button to accelerate, one to brake, and one button respawns you if you get stuck or flip over.\u00a0 And that\u2019s where the game\u2019s problems lie.\u00a0 It\u2019s so easy to get stuck in the tracks or flip over, so you\u2019ll be pushing that button a lot.\u00a0 The game engine seems to be physics based, so it\u2019s very easy to crash and flip at the slightest fall.\u00a0 Why not just make well designed tracks where you wouldn\u2019t have to worry about using that button all the time?\u00a0 CPU racers also tend to crash all at once and bunch up where you can\u2019t get past them, but then a couple of them will break through and you\u2019ll never see them again.\u00a0 It makes it very hard to win or even place.<\/p>\n<p>The game advertises that you\u2019ll be able to race on tracks in giant locations like a living room, bedroom, bathroom, etc.\u00a0 But those are all locked.\u00a0 To gain access to them, you must first finish boring tracks set in a mountainous forest and they all look the same.\u00a0 But the game plays so badly I can\u2019t imagine anyone getting that far.\u00a0 It\u2019s a shame, too, because I was really looked forward to racing on those tiny tracks.\u00a0 I really hate giving games a bad review, but I just can\u2019t recommend this one.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/tiny_screen-3\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-20360\" src=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/TINY_SCREEN.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/TINY_SCREEN.jpg 500w, http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/TINY_SCREEN-150x84.jpg 150w, http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/TINY_SCREEN-300x169.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Kid Factor:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Cars can crash and flip over, but they just look like toy cars and disappear in a puff of smoke when you respawn.\u00a0 And that\u2019s as violent as it gets.\u00a0 Reading skill is helpful for some of the menus, but not necessary just to play.\u00a0 Younger gamers may get frustrated at the high difficulty.\u00a0 Tiny Racer is rated E for Everyone.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In this 3-D racing game on Switch, choose from a selection of cars and race on tracks in single player or multiplayer.\u00a0 You can do a tournament where you compete on multiple tracks for points, race a single track in an arcade mode, and beat your best times in Time Trial.
