{"id":20552,"date":"2020-10-21T00:01:45","date_gmt":"2020-10-21T00:01:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/?p=20552"},"modified":"2020-10-01T12:47:37","modified_gmt":"2020-10-01T12:47:37","slug":"circuit-dude-switch-mobile-pc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/2020\/10\/21\/circuit-dude-switch-mobile-pc\/","title":{"rendered":"Circuit Dude (Switch, Mobile, PC)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/circuit_box\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-20545\" src=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/CIRCUIT_BOX-150x84.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"84\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/CIRCUIT_BOX-150x84.jpg 150w, http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/CIRCUIT_BOX.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a>Meet Circuit Dude.\u00a0 He\u2019s a little robot who needs your help.\u00a0 Guide him to place chips into slots so he can power up his big invention (whatever that is).\u00a0 Run around 2-D top down mazes, solving puzzles along the way in this downloadable title for Switch, mobile devices, and PC (reviewed on Switch here).<\/p>\n<p>At first glance, Circuit Dude resembles an older top down puzzler called Chip\u2019s Challenge.\u00a0 But instead of collecting chips, like you did in Chip\u2019s Challenge, here you place down chips into squares that have slots on them.\u00a0 Once you place down a chip, you can\u2019t walk there again, so most of the puzzles involve figuring out how to keep a path open if need be.\u00a0 Other obstacles include switches that open or close paths, blocks to push, enemies to avoid, and much more.\u00a0 Once you place all the chips into slots, the exit will open.\u00a0 Pass the exit to complete the level.<\/p>\n<p>If you get stuck or mess up, you can hold down the A button to make Circuit Dude overheat and explode, and start the level over.\u00a0 There are 100 levels in all, plus a level editor.\u00a0 I couldn\u2019t figure out if you could share created levels online, but I don\u2019t think you can.\u00a0 It\u2019s a shame because that is such a missed opportunity.\u00a0 The game has some other minor problems, too.\u00a0 After you die a few times on a level, you\u2019ll get a hint to help you pass it (you can turn off the hints).\u00a0 But the hints are oftentimes very vague and not very helpful.\u00a0 A step by step hint feature would\u2019ve been nice, or an option to undo a move if you mess up.<\/p>\n<p>But despite the problems, Circuit Dude is still a fun little puzzler.\u00a0 If you enjoy \u2018Sokuban\u201d style games like the aforementioned Chip\u2019s Challenge, or other NES classics like Adventures of Lolo or Kickle Cubicle, you\u2019ll want to check this one out, too.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/circuit_screen\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-20546\" src=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/CIRCUIT_SCREEN.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/CIRCUIT_SCREEN.jpg 500w, http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/CIRCUIT_SCREEN-150x84.jpg 150w, http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/CIRCUIT_SCREEN-300x169.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Kid Factor:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you mess up, you can make Circuit Dude explode with a cartoony \u201cBAM\u201d symbol, but that\u2019s about as violent as it gets.\u00a0 Reading skill is needed for the text, and younger gamers may find later levels too difficult.\u00a0 The game could be considered educational as it teaches logic and thinking skills.\u00a0 Circuit Dude is rated E for Everyone.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Meet Circuit Dude.\u00a0 He\u2019s a little robot who needs your help.\u00a0 Guide him to place chips into slots so he can power up his big invention (whatever that is).\u00a0 Run around 2-D top down mazes, solving puzzles along the way in this downloadable title for Switch, mobile devices, and PC (reviewed on Switch here).
