\"\"<\/a>Sir Lovelot is a knight who just wants to climb a tower using the hair of the captive princess inside, and fall in love.\u00a0 But he gets kicked out the next morning, and has to do the process over again the next day, and there are all sorts of obstacles in his way.\u00a0 He\u2019s a persistent little knight!\u00a0 Anyway, Sir Lovelot is a super challenging 2-D platformer available for nearly all current consoles and PC, but reviewed on PS4 here.<\/p>\n

To reach the princess in every level, Sir Lovelot will have to avoid all sorts of obstacles, like sawblades, spikes, dragons, and more.\u00a0 It\u2019s a good thing he\u2019s no nimble!\u00a0 You can double jump, climb up walls like Mega Man X, and even shoot rapid fire projectiles to defeat foes.\u00a0 But you can\u2019t just reach the tower and expect to be let inside by the princess.\u00a0 Oh, no, you have to bring her a flower hidden in each stage.\u00a0 In later levels, you\u2019ll even have to find more stuff, like a ring as well as a flower!\u00a0 These are some pretty demanding ladies!<\/p>\n

Each stage is a few single screen obstacle ridden areas you scroll through, and not only must you find the things the princess wants in each level, there are other doo-dads to collect as well.\u00a0 Such as coins and very well hidden ducks.\u00a0 I don\u2019t know why you collect ducks, but there it is.\u00a0 After you reach the end of the stage, your score will be tallied and you get bonus points for finding the secret stuff.\u00a0 But points are subtracted each time you die, so try not to do that.\u00a0 Even though this game is super challenging, the play control is very smooth and responsive, so it doesn\u2019t feel quite as frustrating.\u00a0 Aside from the difficulty, the only other problem I had with the game is that the character sprites are so teeny tiny it was hard to see them sometimes!\u00a0 But if you enjoy punishing 2-D platformers like Super Meat Boy, you\u2019ll like this one, too.<\/p>\n

Kid Factor:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Sir Lovelot is rated E-10 with ESRB descriptors of Suggestive Themes, Fantasy Violence, and Mild Blood.\u00a0 When you climb the maiden\u2019s hair and enter the tower, the door closes behind you and hearts come out.\u00a0 What are they doing in there?\u00a0 The morning after in the next level, that princess kicks you out of her tower with a broken heart symbol and you have to find another lady.\u00a0 But that\u2019s about as suggestive as it gets.\u00a0 You do get hit with all manner of sharp objects and monsters, but when you or anything else gets destroyed, you just see a liquid green splat on the screen.\u00a0 I didn\u2019t see any red blood, but sometimes the ESRB counts liquid that comes out of someone in an act of violence as blood (like bug guts) so that\u2019s probably why that is in there.\u00a0 Reading skill isn\u2019t needed, but younger gamers may find it too difficult.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
