\"\"<\/a>I\u2019ve seen the word \u201cBishoujo\u201d before when referring to anime, but I had no idea what it meant until I looked it up for this review.\u00a0 Turns out it means \u201cbeautiful young lady\u201d so to speak.\u00a0 Guess that would\u2019ve made for too long of a title for this game, where you play Mahjong Solitaire to unlock outfits for a bevvy of anime ladies, who are also armed with weapons in this one for some reason.\u00a0 It\u2019s very similar to the Pretty Girls Klondike Solitaire game I reviewed recently, and it\u2019s available on nearly all current game consoles and PC, but reviewed on PS4 here.<\/p>\n

Mahjong Solitaire is pretty easy to figure out how to play.\u00a0 You just match two tiles with the same design and you can take them away, and when all are matched, you win.\u00a0 But you can\u2019t match tiles that are in between others, or below a stack of tiles.\u00a0 So you must use strategy to figure out which ones to clear.\u00a0 You\u2019ll use the L stick to move a cursor over the tiles, and press a button to highlight and match them.<\/p>\n

To start, you\u2019ll pick an anime lady and then a stage.\u00a0 Each stage has three rounds, with a different tile layout on each one.\u00a0 If you beat the third level, you\u2019ll unlock an outfit for the anime lady.\u00a0 It might be army fatigues, a police uniform, or a maid\u2019s outfit.\u00a0 Every time she\u2019ll also be holding a gun for some reason.\u00a0 Guess that must be the \u2018battle\u2019 part of the title.\u00a0 You can view the unlocked outfits in a dressing room in the main menu, as well as toggle options and view rules to play.<\/p>\n

The two main problems I had with this game are that one, you have a time limit to finish the puzzles.\u00a0 You can gain some time for each match, and increase your score combo if you do it quickly, but the time limits are still pretty short, so this is not a very relaxing Mahjong game!\u00a0 I also wish they would let you change the shapes on the tiles to other things like colors or letters of the alphabet.\u00a0 Maybe it\u2019s just because I\u2019m a dumb American, but a lot of those Chinese looking characters on the tiles looked all the same to me.\u00a0 So the high difficulty made me lose interest pretty quickly.<\/p>\n

Bishoujo Battle Mahjong Solitaire is rated M for Mature with ESRB descriptors of Partial Nudity and Sexual Themes.\u00a0 Before you even start the game there is a disclaimer that says all ladies in the game are portrayed as 18 years or older, so that\u2019s a warning sign right there.\u00a0 I didn\u2019t notice any outfits that were too risqu\u00e9, but then, I didn\u2019t unlock all the outfits either because the game was so hard.\u00a0 Because of that and the high difficulty, I\u2019d say this game is best for older players.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
