(PS4, PS5, Switch, PC)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/pretty_box-3\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-21551\" src=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/PRETTY_BOX-150x84.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"84\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/PRETTY_BOX-150x84.jpg 150w, http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/PRETTY_BOX.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a>Play a classic styled arcade game to reveal pictures of anime ladies in Pretty Gals Panic.\u00a0 It\u2019s available on PlayStation consoles, Switch, and PC, but reviewed on PS4 here.<\/p>\n<p>So basically, this game plays just like Qix, a classic Taito arcade game from the early 80s.\u00a0 In that game you had to draw lines to form squares, and when you did it would fill in the square and would give you a percentage of territory you covered.\u00a0 But you had to avoid enemies that would destroy you if they touched you or your line before finishing a square.\u00a0 In Pretty Girls Panic, if you get 75 percent or more of your squares on the screen, you\u2019ll finish the level and reveal a picture of an anime lady in a swimsuit or towel.\u00a0 Oddly enough, there was a Qix-like arcade game with the same idea called Gals Panic that gained some notoriety because of that.<\/p>\n<p>The game has an underwater theme, with an octopus that you control as you avoid enemies like bouncing starfish and jellyfish, urchins that hone in on you, crabs that follow your line, and anemone that fire projectiles at you.\u00a0 If you wrap a square around a power-up, you can temporarily stop time, or get extra speed or invincibility.\u00a0 You get bonus points for bigger squares or if you make a square with an enemy inside.<\/p>\n<p>You can start back from any stage you\u2019ve finished, as well as view the ladies and outfits you\u2019ve unlocked in the gallery.\u00a0 You can change settings in the options screen, like the difficulty, which either gives you four or six lives per level.\u00a0 And you can read how to play in Help.\u00a0 If you look at just the core gameplay itself, I actually liked it because it\u2019s Qix but not quite as hard and less nerve-wracking.\u00a0 It would\u2019ve been nice if there was an option to turn off the anime ladies in the background if that bothers people, but otherwise that\u2019s the only problem I had with it.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/pretty_screen-3\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-21552\" src=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/PRETTY_SCREEN.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/PRETTY_SCREEN.jpg 500w, http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/PRETTY_SCREEN-300x169.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/08\/PRETTY_SCREEN-150x84.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Kid Factor:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Pretty Girls Panic! is rated M for Mature with ESRB descriptors of Partial Nudity and Suggestive Themes.\u00a0 The busty anime ladies are seen in bikinis and towel wraps, but that\u2019s about it.\u00a0 As mentioned before, if there were an option to turn that off, this game would be safe for kids then.\u00a0 But as it stands now, it\u2019s best for older players only.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Play a classic styled arcade game to reveal pictures of anime ladies in Pretty Gals Panic.\u00a0 It\u2019s available on PlayStation consoles, Switch, and PC, but reviewed on PS4 here.
