{"id":21588,"date":"2021-10-13T00:01:44","date_gmt":"2021-10-13T00:01:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/?p=21588"},"modified":"2021-09-14T12:45:19","modified_gmt":"2021-09-14T12:45:19","slug":"glo-ps4-ps5-switch","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/2021\/10\/13\/glo-ps4-ps5-switch\/","title":{"rendered":"GLO (PS4, PS5, Switch)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/glo_box\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-21579\" src=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/GLO_BOX-150x89.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"89\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/GLO_BOX-150x89.jpg 150w, http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/GLO_BOX.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a>GLO is a minimalistic platformer where you are a square and must reach the exit depicted by an outline of a square.\u00a0 But the gimmick here is that most of the screen is pitch black, and only the small area around your square is illuminated.\u00a0 So you have to do a lot of blind jumps and careful maneuvering.\u00a0 GLO is available on PS4 and 5 as well as Nintendo Switch, but reviewed on PS4 here.<\/p>\n<p>Your square can jump and double jump, as well as climb walls similar to Mega Man X.\u00a0 I wish the controls were more like, that, though, as climbing walls doesn\u2019t feel as responsive and it doesn\u2019t seem you have as much control over your jumps as I would\u2019ve liked.\u00a0 You can also fire bullets that can light up the area as well as destroy enemies, but the game does a poor job describing how that works.\u00a0 You can choose to play any level you\u2019ve beaten or a speedrun mode if you\u2019re into that sort of thing.<\/p>\n<p>The game has over two dozen levels with a boss at the end.\u00a0 I managed to get to around level 20 before giving up out of frustration, as it gets pretty hard by then.
