\"\"<\/a>Hallmark always has a wide annual selection of new Christmas ornaments and series, and in the past few years they\u2019ve even done video game related ones!\u00a0 This year they had even MORE than ever (my wallet is still crying), and I got most of them, so I thought I\u2019d share them with you here.<\/p>\n

Mario<\/strong><\/p>\n

Some ornaments look better hanging on a tree than on the ground, and this is one of them.\u00a0 When hung on a tree, Caped Mario from Super Mario World looks like he\u2019s flying.\u00a0 But on the ground here, it looks like he took a right bank in the ground.\u00a0 But you get the idea.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

SNES<\/strong><\/p>\n

If you listen to my podcast, you\u2019ll know the SNES is my top favorite game console, so I was glad to see it here.\u00a0 Like last year\u2019s NES ornament, this one has controllers and cords, and when you press the power button, it plays music and sound effects from Super Mario World.\u00a0 Very nice!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Mario Kart: Donkey Kong<\/strong><\/p>\n

Considering that Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is still the best selling Switch game and Mario Kart Tour is still going strong on mobile after two years, I think we\u2019ll keep seeing Mario Kart ornaments.\u00a0 This year we get Donkey Kong.\u00a0 The nice thing about these ornaments is the wheels move and everything.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Mini 8-bit Link and Zelda<\/strong><\/p>\n

Hallmark also sells a lot of miniature ornaments for small tabletop trees.\u00a0 Last year they did 8-bit Mario and Luigi from Super Mario Bros., and this year they have 8-bit NES Zelda Link and the princess.\u00a0 The original game is still one of my favorite Zelda titles, so I was glad to see these.\u00a0 They are teeny tiny, though, and no bigger than a quarter!\u00a0 Did you know that in the NES game, Zelda only has a red dress if you beat the game with the red ring?\u00a0 If you beat it with the blue ring, her dress will be blue, too!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Charizard<\/strong><\/p>\n

Pok\u00e9mon got some representation here as well, but not with Pikachu, but Charizard instead.\u00a0 He\u2019s still a pretty popular one, especially with the trading card game crowd I believe.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Sonic & Tails<\/strong><\/p>\n

It\u2019s nice to see that Hallmark had some other video game characters this year, because in the past it seemed like it was all about Mario, Mario, Mario.\u00a0 And considering that Sonic the Hedgehog is almost as popular as Mario is, it makes sense for him to have an ornament, too.\u00a0 I\u2019m glad they included Tails in this ornament as well, since Tails is my favorite Sonic character.\u00a0 Like the Mario ornament, this one looks better hanging on a tree than standing on the ground, but you get the idea.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Knuckles<\/strong><\/p>\n

He\u2019s in his gliding pose holding a ring (maybe a reference to Knuckles Chaotix?).\u00a0 The cool thing about this ornament is that it was exclusive to the stores for a limited time.\u00a0 You couldn\u2019t get it online or anything.\u00a0 So I\u2019m glad I got it.\u00a0 Knuckles is my brother Jeff\u2019s favorite Sonic character.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Kingdom Hearts Mickey<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was a surprise! I\u2019m sure Kingdom Hearts fans are all over this!\u00a0 I wonder if they\u2019ll do more Kingdom Hearts ornaments in the future?<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

There were still some Hallmark video game ornaments I didn\u2019t get, like a Minecraft Enderman one and another of Sub Zero from Mortal Kombat.\u00a0 Yeah nothing says Christmas like an ornament about a game where you can rip out people\u2019s spines!\u00a0 I did get a couple of non-video game related ornaments that I thought I\u2019d share here as well.<\/p>\n

Animaniacs<\/strong><\/p>\n

I\u2019m guessing they\u2019re doing these since the reboot is on Hulu now.\u00a0 Last year they had one where they were popping out of their tower, and this one is more festive with a wreath.\u00a0 I got it because you just don\u2019t see Animaniacs stuff anymore, although I was kind of hoping they\u2019d do a Pinky and the Brain ornament this year.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Poop<\/strong><\/p>\n

It\u2019s a glittery red and white poop emoji that plays Jingle Bells in farts when you push the button.\u00a0 So I had to get that.\u00a0 Maturity is overrated!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Bonus Stage:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Now I\u2019ll conclude with a couple of other Christmas video game themed stuff I got.\u00a0 First is some Mario wrapping paper found at the dollar store.\u00a0 I wrote about some Mario wrapping paper before, but this one\u2019s different, with characters in snowman form!<\/p>\n

Last year for Christmas I also got a Kirby Christmas Coloring Book.\u00a0 I don\u2019t think it\u2019s licensed by Nintendo, because all they did was slap some Santa hats on stock Kirby images and put Christmas trees in the background.\u00a0 So it\u2019s a little weird.\u00a0 But hey, it\u2019s Kirby so at least that\u2019s something.\u00a0 Here\u2019s the front of the book.<\/p>\n
