{"id":22165,"date":"2022-04-04T00:01:34","date_gmt":"2022-04-04T00:01:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/?p=22165"},"modified":"2022-03-12T14:23:27","modified_gmt":"2022-03-12T14:23:27","slug":"splash-cars-ps4-ps5-switch-xbox-one-x-s-pc-mobile","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/2022\/04\/04\/splash-cars-ps4-ps5-switch-xbox-one-x-s-pc-mobile\/","title":{"rendered":"Splash Cars (PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, X\/S, PC, Mobile)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/splash_box\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-22143\" src=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/SPLASH_BOX-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/SPLASH_BOX-150x150.jpg 150w, http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/SPLASH_BOX.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a>Drive a car around 3-D isometric landscapes as you color the world in Splash Cars.\u00a0 It\u2019s available on most current game consoles, PC, and mobile devices, but reviewed on PS4 here.<\/p>\n<p>Each level is presented in isometric fashion.\u00a0 You just move left and right to steer your car in those directions, and that\u2019s it.\u00a0 You\u2019re constantly in motion, so you don\u2019t have to worry about gas or brakes.\u00a0 As you drive, you\u2019ll trail color behind you in this black and white world.\u00a0 Get near structures like houses and trees and you\u2019ll color them automatically.\u00a0 When the times runs out or you run out of fuel, the game is over.\u00a0 Your job is to color a certain percentage of the world before that happens.\u00a0 If you get to certain percentages, you\u2019ll earn stars.\u00a0 Stars unlock new worlds, better cars and other goodies.<\/p>\n<p>On the levels you\u2019ll find items scattered about.\u00a0 Pick up coins to buy unlocked cars and fuel cans to keep you going.\u00a0 Just watch out for police cars that\u2019ll bump into you and slow you down. \u00a0You can pick up power-ups to help you out, though.\u00a0 Some put the police cars out of commission for a while, some make your car bigger, and one turns you into a tank where you can fire out color splashes in front of you!\u00a0 You can play single player or compete with others to color the world in multiplayer.<\/p>\n<p>I think this game started out as a mobile title and it really shows.\u00a0 Even though there are no in-game purchases in the PS4 version that I could tell, progress still felt very slow as you must play a bunch of times to unlock anything good.\u00a0 And the game is just too repetitive for that nonsense.\u00a0 Also, despite the controls being so simple, they do take a bit of getting used to.\u00a0 Because of the problems, I lost interest in this game pretty quickly.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/splash_screen\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-22144\" src=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/SPLASH_SCREEN.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/SPLASH_SCREEN.jpg 500w, http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/SPLASH_SCREEN-300x169.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/SPLASH_SCREEN-150x84.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Kid Factor:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Splash Cars is rated E for Everyone with an ESRB descriptor of Mild Fantasy Violence.\u00a0 You bump into other police cars and that\u2019s it.\u00a0 Reading skill is helpful for some of the text, but not necessary just to play. \u00a0But youngers gamers may still find the controls and later levels difficult.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Drive a car around 3-D isometric landscapes as you color the world in Splash Cars.\u00a0 It\u2019s available on most current game consoles, PC, and mobile devices, but reviewed on PS4 here.
