{"id":22336,"date":"2022-06-13T00:01:40","date_gmt":"2022-06-13T00:01:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/?p=22336"},"modified":"2022-05-28T12:53:22","modified_gmt":"2022-05-28T12:53:22","slug":"remote-life-switch-ps4-ps5-xbox-one-x-s-pc-mobile","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/2022\/06\/13\/remote-life-switch-ps4-ps5-xbox-one-x-s-pc-mobile\/","title":{"rendered":"Remote Life (Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, X\/S, PC, Mobile)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/remote_box\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-22327\" src=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/REMOTE_BOX-150x70.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"70\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/REMOTE_BOX-150x70.jpg 150w, http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/REMOTE_BOX.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a>Remote Life is a twin stick shooter cleverly disguised as a horizontally scrolling classic styled 2-D shooter.\u00a0 You\u2019ll warp to locations to shoot scary space bugs, collect power-ups, and try not to get hit.\u00a0 It\u2019s available on nearly all current consoles, PC, and mobile devices, but reviewed on Switch here.<\/p>\n<p>In each mission you\u2019ll move with the L stick and shoot in any direction with the R stick, even though your spaceship is moving constantly forward like a 2-D shooter.\u00a0 The game really requires you to shoot enemies in all directions.\u00a0 You can change between three different weapons with the L and R shoulder buttons, and collect power-ups that temporarily increase the power of one of those weapons or give you an extra side ship, but neither last very long.\u00a0 When you finish levels you\u2019ll go up in rank, and when you reach certain ranks you can acquire new and better ships to use.<\/p>\n<p>I had two main problems with this game.\u00a0 One is that it\u2019s way too hard, and the default difficulty setting is even on Easy!\u00a0 The other problem is that your ship moves WAY too slow, which just adds to the frustration.\u00a0 I know you can get better and faster ships, but I think it would\u2019ve been more fun had your initial ship went faster.\u00a0 At least the game has plenty of content and decent music.\u00a0 If you like shooters such as R-Type, you may want to check this one out.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/remote_screen\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-22328\" src=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/REMOTE_SCREEN.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/REMOTE_SCREEN.jpg 500w, http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/REMOTE_SCREEN-300x169.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/REMOTE_SCREEN-150x84.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Kid Factor:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Remote Life is rated T for Teen with ESRB descriptors of Blood and Violence.\u00a0 The game claims to have horror styled graphics, but I didn\u2019t think they were any scarier than other 2-D shooters.\u00a0 I didn\u2019t notice any blood, but sometimes the ESRB considers bug guts as such.\u00a0 Anything else just explodes when destroyed.\u00a0 But really the best reason why this game is better for older players is the high difficulty.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Remote Life is a twin stick shooter cleverly disguised as a horizontally scrolling classic styled 2-D shooter.\u00a0 You\u2019ll warp to locations to shoot scary space bugs, collect power-ups, and try not to get hit.\u00a0 It\u2019s available on nearly all current consoles, PC, and mobile devices, but reviewed on Switch here.
