platformer available for all current consoles, but reviewed on Switch here. I never played the first Dyna Bomb game, so I don’t know what’s changed or improved in the sequel.

You can play single player or two player co-op. Each level is fairly short, but there’s a lot of stuff going on. You can press the jump button to jump, or hold it down to use your jetpack to fly. You can also throw bombs with the attack button. But be careful as your jetpack and bombs are limited. You have to wait for the jetpack to charge by landing for a while, and you can collect more bombs in certain boxes. To complete a level, you must first find a key which opens a door, then you must go to the door. You can take three hits and after that you must start the level over again.

Scattered all over the levels are diamonds you can collect, and each stage also has four pieces of a golden ball thing you can get. You use these collectables to purchase items in a shop. Some are just temporary and only last for one level. Like a magnet that pulls diamonds toward you, or missiles that you can switch to that are easier to use than bombs. Other items are permanent but either way they all cost TONS of diamonds and/or golden ball things, so you won’t be buying much for a while.

It was hard for me to stay interested in this game for several reasons. I liked the colorful graphics, but that also made it hard to see the key you’re supposed to collect, as well as the robot enemies. Especially since there are a lot of blind jumps and such. And since you can only take a couple of hits, it got rather frustrating. Also, the game’s pace is a bit slower, which made it feel more plodding than anything. Finally, the game is just a bit generic overall.

<img
