\"\"<\/a>Aliens have invaded Earth so the President sends out her secret weapon: a chicken!\u00a0 Super Chicken Jumper is a continuous runner with 8-bit styled retro graphics.\u00a0 Play as a chicken as you run, jump, defeat bosses, and collect power-ups and items to help you keep going further.\u00a0 It\u2019s available on pretty much anything you can play a game on, but reviewed on PS4 here.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s a story mode where you must travel a certain distance in stages to progress, but you can also unlock extra challenge modes and endless stages.\u00a0 In story mode, the stages are short and you can view your progress at the bottom of the screen and when you make it to the end, you can move onto the next stage.\u00a0 You can run and jump, and later on you can wear hats that give you special skills, like a propeller beanie that lets you jump a little higher.\u00a0 You can also equip weapons like knives and guns that you can activate with another button to defeat enemies and deflect projectiles.\u00a0 You can pick up power-ups like a mushroom that makes you temporarily big and invincible for a few seconds, or a bomb that destroys everything on screen.\u00a0 Just watch out for the poison mushroom that makes you glitch out for a bit!\u00a0 At the end of a set of levels you\u2019ll fight a boss while running, too! \u00a0All the stages are randomly generated, so it\u2019ll be a different run each time.<\/p>\n

I do like the retro graphics and the music is pretty good, too.\u00a0 But this is one of the hardest continuous runners I\u2019ve ever played and I didn\u2019t make it too far in this one.\u00a0 So that\u2019s my only main problem with this game.\u00a0 For experienced players who want a challenge only!<\/p>\n

Kid Factor:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Super Chicken Jumper is rated T for Teen with ESRB descriptors of Blood and Violence.\u00a0 I really didn\u2019t notice too much blood, and when you get hit you\u2019ll just fly off the screen.\u00a0 Defeated bosses do blow up in chunks, though, but the retro visuals negate a lot of the gory violence.\u00a0 There isn\u2019t a ESRB descriptor on it, but some of the cutscenes have some slightly suggestive themes, too.\u00a0 Because of this and the high challenge level, I\u2019d say it\u2019s best for older players only.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
