{"id":23767,"date":"2023-09-18T00:01:18","date_gmt":"2023-09-18T00:01:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/?p=23767"},"modified":"2023-09-16T12:26:35","modified_gmt":"2023-09-16T12:26:35","slug":"neko-journey-ps4-ps5-switch-pc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/2023\/09\/18\/neko-journey-ps4-ps5-switch-pc\/","title":{"rendered":"Neko Journey (PS4, PS5, Switch, PC)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/neko_box\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-23763 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/NEKO_BOX-144x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"144\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/NEKO_BOX-144x150.jpg 144w, http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/NEKO_BOX.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 144px) 100vw, 144px\" \/><\/a>An evil wizard has ransacked a village and kidnapped a catgirl\u2019s sister.\u00a0 Guide the catgirl in this 2D platform jumping adventure.\u00a0 Neko Journey is available on PlayStation consoles, Switch, and PC, but reviewed on PS4 here.<\/p>\n<p>The big draw with this game is that you can customize how your character looks right from the get go.\u00a0 You can edit clothes, colors of outfit, skin, hair, and more.\u00a0 Just make sure you save the changes!\u00a0 Then you\u2019re off on a 2D platforming adventure.\u00a0 The game features 3D graphics so it\u2019s more like 2.5D, really.\u00a0 Jump on enemies to defeat them, collect coins to buy hints and more, and press the circle button for a dodge move.\u00a0 Aside from visiting the ransacked village, that\u2019s about it, really.<\/p>\n<p>This game has so many problems, though.\u00a0 The play control is awful and you barely have any control over your jumps.\u00a0 It\u2019s hard to tell what\u2019s a pit you can fall into, enemies blend into the background, and the Banjo-Kazooie style voices are annoying.\u00a0 I couldn\u2019t get past the first boss because I think you\u2019re supposed to jump on these clouds when spikes come out of the ground, but you just fall through the cloud platforms when you jump on them.\u00a0 The whole game just feels very amateurish and unfinished. One of the worst games I\u2019ve played this year.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/neko_screen\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-23764\" src=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/NEKO_SCREEN.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"280\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/NEKO_SCREEN.jpg 500w, http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/NEKO_SCREEN-300x168.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/NEKO_SCREEN-150x84.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Kid Factor:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Neko Journey is rated M for Mature with ESRB descriptors of Suggestive Themes and Nudity.\u00a0 You can edit the breast size of your character and outfit them with a bikini, but I didn\u2019t see any nudity.\u00a0 Granted the game was so bad I didn\u2019t get very far.\u00a0 I can\u2019t recommend this game for any age.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>An evil wizard has ransacked a village and kidnapped a catgirl\u2019s sister.\u00a0 Guide the catgirl in this 2D platform jumping adventure.\u00a0 Neko Journey is available on PlayStation consoles, Switch, and PC, but reviewed on PS4 here.
