{"id":23777,"date":"2023-10-02T00:01:24","date_gmt":"2023-10-02T00:01:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/?p=23777"},"modified":"2023-08-28T11:40:08","modified_gmt":"2023-08-28T11:40:08","slug":"wildagotchi-switch-mobile","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/2023\/10\/02\/wildagotchi-switch-mobile\/","title":{"rendered":"Wildagotchi (Switch, Mobile)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wild_box\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-23765\" src=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/WILD_BOX-150x109.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"109\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/WILD_BOX-150x109.jpg 150w, http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/WILD_BOX.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a>Travel back to the 90s where virtual pet keychains were the big thing.\u00a0 But in Wildagotchi on Switch, you\u2019re not just limited to taking care of just cats and dogs.\u00a0 In this one, you can care for all sorts of wild animals, like a wolf, panda, giraffe, gorilla, hippo, and even a dinosaur!<\/p>\n<p>The first thing you\u2019ll do is pick an animal you want to take care of, then choose its gender and name.\u00a0 You can raise multiple animals at the same time, and when you raise more than two to adulthood, you\u2019ll unlock even more!\u00a0 Similar to other key chain virtual pet games, you\u2019ll select what you can do with icons on the bottom screen.\u00a0 You can feed your animal and if you see a poop icon next to your pet, press the water drop icon to clean it up.\u00a0 If your pet has a skull beside it, it\u2019s sick so you must give it a shot.\u00a0 Turn off the light to let it sleep to refill energy.\u00a0 You can even decorate the areas to the left and right of your animals with buildings and plants and other things.<\/p>\n<p>To refill the \u2018fun\u2019 meter on your pet, you\u2019ll play some mini-games.\u00a0 Each animal has different ones, and you\u2019ll unlock one at each stage of their life: baby, teen, and adult.\u00a0 One improvement in this game is that while they are still simple, the mini-games aren\u2019t as boring as in past titles.\u00a0 You\u2019ll do things like cross the road to avoid cars, jump over obstacles, and play ping pong.<\/p>\n<p>And that\u2019s pretty much it.\u00a0 I guess the game does what it sets out to do.\u00a0 There\u2019s not much to it and this kind of game works better on a keychain you can pull out at any time.\u00a0 Even though the Switch is portable, it\u2019s a bit harder to do that with it.\u00a0 Of all the games I\u2019ve reviewed in this series (Catgotchi and Dogotchi), this one is the best.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wild_screen\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-23766\" src=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/WILD_SCREEN.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/WILD_SCREEN.jpg 500w, http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/WILD_SCREEN-300x169.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/08\/WILD_SCREEN-150x84.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Kid Factor:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Nothing violent or objectionable here.\u00a0 I\u2019m not sure if you can die in this game.\u00a0 I didn\u2019t have my pet die in the cat one, but in the dog one I did, so if that happens here, that may bother very sensitive kids.\u00a0 Reading skill is helpful for some of the text, but not necessary just to play.\u00a0 Wildagotchi is rated E for Everyone.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Travel back to the 90s where virtual pet keychains were the big thing.\u00a0 But in Wildagotchi on Switch, you\u2019re not just limited to taking care of just cats and dogs.\u00a0 In this one, you can care for all sorts of wild animals, like a wolf, panda, giraffe, gorilla, hippo, and even a dinosaur!
