styled game where you have to fight off waves of enemies, and when you die you can spend your winnings to upgrade your character so you can survive longer next time. And with any popular game, there will be imitators, and here’s one called Catlord on Switch. But instead of a vampire killer, you are a cat and must defeat waves of animals like chickens, dogs, snakes, ducks, etc.

In Catlord you’ll mostly be moving around a top down map with the L stick. You’ll automatically shoot bullets at the nearest enemy. Defeated enemies leave behind balls of yarn and money that you’ll want to pick up. You can press the R shoulder buttons to fire off more powerful balls of yarn, but you’ll have to pick up more when you run out. You can also shield yourself with the L shoulder buttons. You can also jump, which is handy for avoiding baddies, and when you land you’ll dish out damage when you stomp, too. But you can only use that move so many times before you can use it again. You can see your energy, balls of yarn, and stomp energy via meters on the bottom left of the screen.

When you run out of energy and get a Game Over, you can upgrade your stats with the money you’ve collected during your run. You can upgrade everything from your shot speed, power, stomp strength, stamina, energy, movement speed, and much more. You can also get new maps if you have enough points and can even buy new kinds of cats to play as. I’ve never played Vampire Survivor, so I don’t really have much to compare this one to. But I’m not seeing what’s so addictive about it from playing this imitator. Just feels more repetitive to me. But if you can’t get enough of that style of gameplay, here’s another one for you.

<img
