{"id":23822,"date":"2023-10-16T00:01:27","date_gmt":"2023-10-16T00:01:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/?p=23822"},"modified":"2023-09-18T14:22:04","modified_gmt":"2023-09-18T14:22:04","slug":"rayland-2-ps4-ps5-switch-xbox-one-x-s-pc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/2023\/10\/16\/rayland-2-ps4-ps5-switch-xbox-one-x-s-pc\/","title":{"rendered":"Rayland 2 (PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, X\/S, PC)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/rayland2_box\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-23820 alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/RAYLAND2_BOX-150x57.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"57\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/RAYLAND2_BOX-150x57.jpg 150w, http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/RAYLAND2_BOX.jpg 294w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a>In this sequel to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/2022\/08\/08\/rayland-ps4-ps5-switch-xbox-one-x-s-pc\/\"><strong>last year\u2019s puzzler<\/strong><\/a>, you\u2019ll do more of the same reflecting lasers with mirror blocks so they hit certain targets.\u00a0 The sequel just gets tougher quicker and adds new elements like colored lasers and such.\u00a0 Rayland 2 is available on all current consoles and PC, but reviewed on PS4 here.<\/p>\n<p>Puzzles are viewed in an isometric perspective.\u00a0 You\u2019ll use the control stick to move around a cursor, and press a button to drag and drop mirrors and another button to rotate them.\u00a0 It seems mouse or touch screen controls would be better here, but this works well enough.\u00a0 Sometimes you\u2019ll have to feed the laser through obstacles like blocks with holes and whatnot, and other times you may have to hit two crystals with lasers, or get certain color lasers to respective targets.\u00a0 Once you do hit all the crystals, you can move onto the next level.\u00a0 There are 50 levels in all but they get a lot harder in this sequel early on.<\/p>\n<p>One problem I had with the game is that it\u2019s hard to tell where your mirror blocks are pointing.\u00a0 Luckily you can zoom in and rotate the levels, but a slight change in the graphics might\u2019ve been better, too.\u00a0 The game gets pretty hard, so a hint option would\u2019ve been nice.\u00a0 But if you enjoyed the puzzles in the first and want more of the same but with a higher challenge, then you may want to check out this one.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/rayland2_screen\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-23821\" src=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/RAYLAND2_SCREEN.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/RAYLAND2_SCREEN.jpg 500w, http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/RAYLAND2_SCREEN-300x169.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/RAYLAND2_SCREEN-150x84.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Kid Factor:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Nothing violent or objectionable here.\u00a0 Reading skill is helpful for the instructions and menus, but not necessary just to play.\u00a0 Younger gamers may need help with the tougher puzzles, though.\u00a0 Rayland 2 is rated E for Everyone.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In this sequel to last year\u2019s puzzler, you\u2019ll do more of the same reflecting lasers with mirror blocks so they hit certain targets.\u00a0 The sequel just gets tougher quicker and adds new elements like colored lasers and such.\u00a0 Rayland 2 is available on all current consoles and PC, but reviewed on PS4 here.
