\"\"<\/a>Hallmark always has a wide variety of Christmas ornaments every year, and in the past few years they\u2019ve even had lots of video game themed ones!\u00a0 I got a bunch of them this year as well, as I always do, so let\u2019s take a look at them!<\/p>\n

Super Mario Collecting Coins<\/strong><\/p>\n

Mario of course, gets the lion\u2019s share of ornaments every year, being the most popular Nintendo character and all.\u00a0 But this first one\u2019s pretty cool.\u00a0 You can flick the lever on the right side and Mario will jump and hit the block.\u00a0 And then a coin will pop out of that.\u00a0 And if you put the included watch batteries in it, it\u2019ll make sounds as well!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Propeller Suit Mario<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is part of the series: \u201cPowered Up With Mario.\u201d\u00a0 I\u2019m a little surprised they didn\u2019t go with Elephant Mario since Super Mario Bros. Wonder came out last year, but this one is better than I expected.\u00a0 The helmet is a shiny metallic finish, and has the Mario M symbol on the sides (since you can\u2019t see them from the picture).\u00a0 And the propeller spins around too!\u00a0 I always thought the characters looked dorky when they put on this suit in the games, though.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Mario Kart Toad<\/strong><\/p>\n

Every year they also do a Mario Kart ornament, seeing as though that\u2019s one of Nintendo\u2019s biggest selling properties.\u00a0 In years past they\u2019ve had characters like Mario, Luigi, Bowser, Yoshi, and Donkey Kong.\u00a0 And I\u2019m happy to say that this year\u2019s is Toad!\u00a0 Toad has always been my favorite kart racer since the first game, and he\u2019s my favorite Mario character as well (with Luigi being a close second).<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Boo<\/strong><\/p>\n

Hallmark also does miniature tree ornaments, and this year\u2019s little one from Mario is Boo.\u00a0 I guess you could also use this as a Halloween ornament.\u00a0 And yes Hallmark makes those, too!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Mario Items<\/strong><\/p>\n

This one wasn\u2019t in the catalog, but Hallmark did have this one on display so I pieked it up when I got the others.\u00a0 It\u2019s just a bunch of Mario items and I kept them in the box since they showed up better like that in a picture.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Blastoise<\/strong><\/p>\n

Pok\u00e9mon is another one of Nintendo\u2019s big franchises, and they got a few ornaments as well.\u00a0 One of this years is Blastoise.\u00a0 He\u2019s a pretty big and beefy ornament.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Magikarp<\/strong><\/p>\n

Now, I can understand why they\u2019d want to make an ornament out of Blastoise, one of the final evolutions of the three original starter Pok\u00e9mon.\u00a0 But Magikarp?\u00a0 He\u2019s one of the weakest Pok\u00e9mon out there.\u00a0 But he did get his own mobile game with Magikarp Jump!<\/strong><\/a>, so maybe there is a fanbase for this fish after all.\u00a0 I\u2019m surprised the fins and whiskers on this ornament don\u2019t break.\u00a0 In the picture below I kept him in his famous flopping pose. Karp! Karp!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Poke Balls<\/strong><\/p>\n

Pok\u00e9mon also got some miniature ornaments as well in the form of six Poke Balls.\u00a0 I kept them in the shell they had them in the box since they showed up better in a picture that way.\u00a0 I can recognize the regular Poke Ball, Super Ball, Ultra Ball, and Master Ball, but I\u2019m not sure what the last two are.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Celeste<\/strong><\/p>\n

Animal Crossing is my second favorite game series of all time (right behind Pac-Man, my first), so I\u2019m glad they had another Animal Crossing one this year.\u00a0 My favorite character is Blathers the owl, and I\u2019d like to see an ornament of him sometime, but his little sister Celeste makes for a cute ornament as well.\u00a0 Animal Crossing has so many characters they could keep making ornaments of them for decades!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Pikmin<\/strong><\/p>\n

Last year\u2019s big surprise for me was the Metroid Samus ornament, as I never expected them to do that.\u00a0 This year\u2019s big surprise for me was the Pikmin ornaments.\u00a0 I just never thought that game series was that popular.\u00a0 But I\u2019m not really a big Pikmin fan myself.\u00a0 The cool thing here is that there are three separate ornaments of the Red, Blue, and Yellow Pikmin.\u00a0 I kept them in the case they came in for this picture because there was no way they\u2019d stand up on their own.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Sonic Collecting Rings<\/strong><\/p>\n

Other game characters besides Nintendo got ornaments as well, and Sonic the Hedgehog got a couple.\u00a0 This first one is huge!\u00a0 When I hold it in my hand, it covers my whole palm!\u00a0 It\u2019s light enough that you can hang it from a Christmas tree, but you can also stand it on display all year, which is what I imagine most people would do.\u00a0 Anyway, when you put some batteries in it (not included), and press the button, the whole loop lights up.\u00a0 Sonic goes around the loop, and when he collects the rings, the light goes out around that ring and it makes the ring collecting sound.\u00a0 And when Sonic gets to the bottom of the loop, they make that \u201cEerrk\u201d stopping sound.\u00a0 Very cool for Sonic fans, but also very expensive!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Sonic Santa<\/strong><\/p>\n

The other Sonic ornament has him in a Santa hat and sack.\u00a0 I\u2019m surprised they didn\u2019t do a Shadow ornament, since he\u2019s a star in the new game and movie.\u00a0 But I guess Shadow is too edgy for Christmas.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Kingdom Hearts Mickey<\/strong><\/p>\n

A couple of years ago, Hallmark had a Kingdom Hearts ornament with Mickey in his regular outfit holding a Keyblade.\u00a0 This year he\u2019s in his Organization XIII style cloak.\u00a0 Hallmark does a LOT of Disney ornaments every year, so I\u2019m surprised they don\u2019t do more from this series.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Bonus Ornaments<\/strong><\/p>\n

And those are all the ornaments I got from Hallmark this year.\u00a0 They had other video game themed ornaments like from Minecraft, Fortnite, Master Chief from HALO, and an original Xbox console.\u00a0 But I don\u2019t like those games as much and I never had an original Xbox, so I didn\u2019t get them.\u00a0 Plus I spent enough money on ornaments as it is!\u00a0 But I got a few other ornaments from other places this year, so I thought I\u2019d show those as well.<\/p>\n

Pac-Man<\/strong><\/p>\n

I got these from Wal-Mart.\u00a0 They\u2019re just molded plastic and don\u2019t do anything, but still cool.\u00a0 A few years ago, Hallmark did some ornaments of arcade games like Pac-Man, Galaga, and Joust, and they had lights and sound effects.\u00a0 The arcade cabinet one here doesn\u2019t, but that\u2019s OK.\u00a0 I liked it anyway.\u00a0 I wish they\u2019d do more arcade classic cabinets in the future.\u00a0 The pixel Pac-Man is also neat, but there\u2019s a missed opportunity here to do ornaments of all four of the ghosts as well.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Bluey<\/strong><\/p>\n

A close relative got me these ornaments at Hobby Lobby since I like the show so much.\u00a0 Luckily she got them on sale.\u00a0 I\u2019m surprised Hallmark didn\u2019t do any Bluey ornaments this year since the show is so popular.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Baby Garfield<\/strong><\/p>\n

Even though the box says Hallmark, I got this one at Wal-Mart as well since it\u2019s so gosh darn cute.\u00a0 I was really into Garfield when I was a kid.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n
