{"id":25292,"date":"2025-01-13T00:01:17","date_gmt":"2025-01-13T00:01:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/?p=25292"},"modified":"2024-12-20T07:48:03","modified_gmt":"2024-12-20T07:48:03","slug":"ninja-1987-ps4-ps5-switch-xbox-one-x-s-pc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/2025\/01\/13\/ninja-1987-ps4-ps5-switch-xbox-one-x-s-pc\/","title":{"rendered":"Ninja 1987 (PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, X\/S, PC)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/ninja_box-15\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-25241\" src=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/NINJA_BOX-150x56.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"56\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/NINJA_BOX-150x56.jpg 150w, http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/NINJA_BOX.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a>In the 80s, ninjas were everywhere!\u00a0 Ninja movies, Ninja video games, even Ninja Turtles!\u00a0 And now you can play a new ninja game modeled in that 80s 8-bit style.\u00a0 In the far future of 1987, an evil ninja has taken over the world, and now a ninja from a rival clan must stop him!\u00a0 Don\u2019t you just love video game stories?\u00a0 Ninja 1987 is a 2D side scrolling platformer hack and slash, and it\u2019s available on all current consoles and PC, but reviewed on PS4 here.<\/p>\n<p>You ninja can run, jump, climb walls, and double jump.\u00a0 He has a short range sword attack as well as limited use of long range ninja stars.\u00a0 You have a special meter that you can draw from for two special attacks.\u00a0 One lets you dash into enemies straight forward, and another clears all of them on screen.\u00a0 Enemies will sometimes leave behind health and special attack refills as well as ninja stars.\u00a0 There are seven stages with a boss at the end of each one.\u00a0 If you run out of energy, you\u2019ll start back at the last checkpoint but you get unlimited continues.\u00a0 Only penalty is your score is subtracted 1000 points.<\/p>\n<p>My problems with this game are fairly minor.\u00a0 You can get stuck climbing walls sometimes, so it\u2019s a little buggy.\u00a0 Bosses are a bit disappointing.
