{"id":25393,"date":"2025-02-12T00:01:55","date_gmt":"2025-02-12T00:01:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/?p=25393"},"modified":"2025-02-03T15:55:44","modified_gmt":"2025-02-03T15:55:44","slug":"mechanita-ps4-ps5-switch-xbox-one-x-s-pc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/2025\/02\/12\/mechanita-ps4-ps5-switch-xbox-one-x-s-pc\/","title":{"rendered":"Mechanita (PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, X\/S, PC)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/mech_box\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-25391\" src=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/MECH_BOX-150x79.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"79\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/MECH_BOX-150x79.jpg 150w, http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/MECH_BOX.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a>Help a mechanic escape a obstacle-laden, robot-filled scrap yard in Mechanita.\u00a0 It\u2019s a 2D platform game where the levels are hardly bigger than one screen, and you must use the robots\u2019 abilities to help you pass the levels.\u00a0 It\u2019s available on all current consoles and PC, but reviewed on PS4 here.<\/p>\n<p>Your mechanic can move left and right and jump.\u00a0 If you hit spikes or other harmful objects, or touch certain robots, you\u2019ll lose the level and must start over again.\u00a0 Luckily the levels (60 in all) are short enough that it\u2019s not too big of a penalty when that happens.\u00a0 You\u2019ll pass the level when you step on a flying sled thing at the other side of the stage.\u00a0 Your mechanic also wields a gun that you can fire with the R1 button.\u00a0 It fires a beam that deactivates the robots, and then you can jump on their heads.\u00a0 Some robots just act as stepping stools, while others are like trampolines and some you can even ride on like floating platforms.<\/p>\n<p>I had a few minor problems with this game.\u00a0 Your jumps feel a bit too weighty and heavy for my tastes, and you really have to be precise with some of the leaps.\u00a0 There are also a few blind jumps as well.\u00a0 The rules are also not very consistent, as some robots will let you jump on their heads while others have to be deactivated first.\u00a0 So there\u2019s a bit of trial and error involved, but again, you\u2019re not penalized too much if you lose.\u00a0 The game is challenging, but still doable, so if you like 2D puzzle platformers, you might want to check this one out.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/mech_screen\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-25392 alignnone\" src=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/MECH_SCREEN.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/MECH_SCREEN.jpg 500w, http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/MECH_SCREEN-300x169.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/MECH_SCREEN-150x84.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Kid Factor:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Mechanita is rated E for Everyone with an ESRB descriptor of Mild Fantasy Violence.
