Luckily you get unlimited lives and continues, but there are no checkpoints so you must start the level over at the beginning. Because of the slower pace of the gameplay, this makes things more tedious than fun.

After every two stages you’ll fight a boss, one of your brainwashed friends. After you beat a boss, you’ll earn one of their skills. For instance, the skeleton wears a pot over its head for protection, so after you defeat it, you can press down to duck into the pot to protect you from explosions. The pumpkin head shoots fire, so after you defeat it you can shoot fire, too. Aside from the slow and tedious gameplay, my other problems with this game were that the hit detection felt off, not good for a one hit and you die kind of game. And the music is very limited and repetitive, too. If they had improved the music and added checkpoints, this game might’ve been better.

Kid Factor:

Tsetseg’s Adventure is rated E for Everyone with an ESRB descriptor of Mild Fantasy Violence. Enemies just crumble and disappear when defeated, and when you get hit, you just fall off the screen with a surprised look. Reading skill isn’t needed, but younger gamers may find it too difficult.

A bad guy has kidnapped Tsetseg the witch’s spooky friends (skeleton, ghost, pumpkin, etc.) and not it’s up to her to save them! Tsetseg’s Adventure is an 8-bit styled 2D platformer on Switch and PC, but reviewed on Switch here.
