(PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, X\/S, PC)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/knight_box-4\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-25772 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/KNIGHT_BOX-126x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"126\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/KNIGHT_BOX-126x150.jpg 126w, http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/KNIGHT_BOX.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 126px) 100vw, 126px\" \/><\/a>A knight must stop an evil wizard from doing something\u2026evil in Knight\u2019s Night!\u00a0 It\u2019s a retro inspired 2-D precision platformer with black and white graphics that remind me of the games I used to play on my old Apple ][+ computer.\u00a0 It\u2019s available on all current consoles and PC, but reviewed on PS4 here.<\/p>\n<p>Your knight can run and jump, and later on you\u2019ll get potions that let you double jump, dash, and air dash, too.\u00a0 I wish you could\u2019ve started the game with all the abilities, though.\u00a0 You can hop on certain enemies, like mushrooms and wolves, to defeat them, but other things like spikes you must avoid altogether.\u00a0 If you pass by a tent with a campfire, that\u2019s a checkpoint.\u00a0 If you lose all three of your hearts, you must start back at the beginning of the level or at the last checkpoint you reached.\u00a0 When you pass a checkered flag, the level ends and you move onto the next. There are hidden items for you to find, but they don\u2019t really do anything but give you something extra to do. You get unlimited continues.\u00a0 These types of precision platformers are usually impossibly hard, but this one\u2019s at least doable.\u00a0 It\u2019s a bit bland and short and the ending is anti-climatic, but it at least serves its purpose.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/knight_screen-4\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-25773\" src=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/KNIGHT_SCREEN.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/KNIGHT_SCREEN.jpg 500w, http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/KNIGHT_SCREEN-300x169.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/KNIGHT_SCREEN-150x84.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Kid Factor:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Knight\u2019s Night! is rated E-10 with an ESRB descriptor of Fantasy Violence.\u00a0 You just hop on enemies and defeated characters just disappear and that\u2019s it.\u00a0 Reading skill is helpful for some of the text, but not necessary just to play.\u00a0 Younger gamers may need help with some of the tougher jumps, though.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A knight must stop an evil wizard from doing something\u2026evil in Knight\u2019s Night!\u00a0 It\u2019s a retro inspired 2-D precision platformer with black and white graphics that remind me of the games I used to play on my old Apple ][+ computer.\u00a0 It\u2019s available on all current consoles and PC, but reviewed on PS4 here.
