\"\"<\/a>The best way to describe this game is that it\u2019s Pok\u00e9mon with a potty mouth.\u00a0 The Edge of Allegoria is an old school styled RPG with a green and white color palette similar to the Game Boy.\u00a0 It has some similarities to Pok\u00e9mon, too.\u00a0 You don\u2019t train and fight monsters, but the battle screen and the map are very similar to that series.\u00a0 In the game you play as a generic person who goes out to make something of themselves.\u00a0 You come to a town with a goblin problem, and beat up the leader in a dungeon, only to have other goblins come and demolish your house.\u00a0 Then a fairy comes to tell you that the world is not in balance anymore after you fight her.\u00a0 And in typical RPG fashion, you just go on from there, visiting towns for clues and items and fighting monsters on route to dungeons.\u00a0 Only other thing that sets this game apart from others is that it uses more curse words in the text than any other video game I\u2019ve ever seen!\u00a0 It\u2019s available on Switch and PC, but reviewed on Switch here.<\/p>\n

Again, this is your typical RPG with towns to visit to gather clues and items.\u00a0 Then you go out into the wilds and fight monsters in random encounters through turn based battles.\u00a0 Find dungeons to beat up bosses and start the process over again.\u00a0 The map is set up very similarly to how they are in Pok\u00e9mon games.\u00a0 One neat thing is that early on, your dog will be able to take you to any place you\u2019ve already visited instantly, and will drag you back to town if you lose in a battle.\u00a0 A very good boy indeed!<\/p>\n

One unique thing about this game is that you can equip weapons and learn skills from them as you level up.\u00a0 But you must be careful because if you fall in battle before fully learning a weapon\u2019s skill, it\u2019ll reset and you\u2019ll have to start all over again.\u00a0 You also can only know a few skills at a time, so choose what you want to have in battle wisely.\u00a0 The rest of the game itself is all right, it just doesn\u2019t do anything that really grabbed me and made me want to keep playing.\u00a0 Plus it’s a bit grindy.\u00a0 And the constant cursing in the text gets old pretty quickly.<\/p>\n

The Edge of Allegoria is rated M for Mature with ESRB descriptors of Crude Humor, Partial Nudity, Suggestive Themes, and Use of Drugs.\u00a0 Not to mention alcohol use and strong language!\u00a0 Most of it is in the text only, although some female monsters don\u2019t wear any clothes and you can see their pixel boobs.\u00a0 There are some innuendos in the text that I\u2019d rather not go to in detail as I\u2019m a bit embarrassed to repeat them.\u00a0 Items include alcohol and other adult things.\u00a0 And yeah, the game doesn\u2019t bat an eye at using the F-bomb at every corner, even if it\u2019s just in text.\u00a0 So yeah, this one\u2019s best for adult gamers only.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
