{"id":26122,"date":"2025-10-22T00:01:23","date_gmt":"2025-10-22T00:01:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/?p=26122"},"modified":"2025-09-28T12:17:39","modified_gmt":"2025-09-28T12:17:39","slug":"soldner-x-himmelssturmer-switch","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/2025\/10\/22\/soldner-x-himmelssturmer-switch\/","title":{"rendered":"S\u00f6ldner-X: Himmelsst\u00fcrmer (Switch)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/soldner_box\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-26120\" src=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/SOLDNER_BOX-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/SOLDNER_BOX-150x150.jpg 150w, http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/SOLDNER_BOX.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 150px) 100vw, 150px\" \/><\/a>S\u00f6ldner-X: Himmelsst\u00fcrmer is a 2D horizontally scrolling shooter.\u00a0 It\u2019s been previously available on other systems in the past, but now you can play it on Switch.<\/p>\n<p>What you see is what you get here pretty much.\u00a0 Use the control stick to move your ship and hold down the fire button to shoot.\u00a0 You can press the shoulder button to switch between two different types of weapons.\u00a0 There\u2019s a straight shot with a diagonal bomb and a electric beam that hones in on enemies.\u00a0 If you can shoot down a bunch of enemies with one weapon, you\u2019ll increase your score combo, perfect for high score chasers.\u00a0 But there\u2019s also a meter that goes down as you fire, and if it reaches the bottom you switch to the other weapon.\u00a0 But you can also switch back at any time so I\u2019m not sure I totally understand the mechanic.\u00a0 But just shoot everything that moves and avoid projectiles yourself and you\u2019ll be fine.\u00a0 You have an energy meter that goes down as you get hit, and you can collect power-ups for your shots as well.\u00a0 If the meter reaches zero it\u2019s Game Over.\u00a0 Luckily there are plenty of difficulty modes so players of all skills can enjoy it.<\/p>\n<p>The main story mode can be played by one or two players in co-op.\u00a0 You can also do training on each stage separately and view your high scores, awards, trophies, and toggle options.\u00a0 My only problem is that I wish you could save after every stage in the main mode and start back up there later.\u00a0 The stages are pretty long and it takes a while to beat in one go.\u00a0 Also sometimes the enemies kind of blend into the background.\u00a0 But otherwise, this is a pretty decent shooter that just does what it sets out to do.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/soldner_screen\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-26121\" src=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/SOLDNER_SCREEN.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/SOLDNER_SCREEN.jpg 500w, http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/SOLDNER_SCREEN-300x169.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/SOLDNER_SCREEN-150x84.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Kid Factor:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>S\u00f6ldner-X: Himmelsst\u00fcrmer is rated E for Everyone with an ESRB descriptor of Fantasy Violence.\u00a0 You shoot spaceships and plant monsters that explode when defeated and that\u2019s it.\u00a0 Reading skill is helpful for some of the menus, but not necessary just to play.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>S\u00f6ldner-X: Himmelsst\u00fcrmer is a 2D horizontally scrolling shooter.\u00a0 It\u2019s been previously available on other systems in the past, but now you can play it on Switch.
