{"id":26236,"date":"2025-11-26T00:01:15","date_gmt":"2025-11-26T00:01:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/?p=26236"},"modified":"2025-11-02T14:58:30","modified_gmt":"2025-11-02T14:58:30","slug":"gruniozerca-trilogy-switch-ps5-xbox-one-pc","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/2025\/11\/26\/gruniozerca-trilogy-switch-ps5-xbox-one-pc\/","title":{"rendered":"Gruniozerca Trilogy (Switch, PS5, Xbox One, PC)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/grunio_box\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-26227\" src=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/GRUNIO_BOX-137x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"137\" height=\"150\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/GRUNIO_BOX-137x150.jpg 137w, http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/GRUNIO_BOX.jpg 175w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 137px) 100vw, 137px\" \/><\/a>Originally homebrew NES games, Gruniozerca Trilogy is a trio of puzzle action games starring a little black guinea pig named Grunio. \u00a0It\u2019s available on most current consoles and PC, but reviewed on Switch here.<\/p>\n<p>The first game is super simple and reminds me of Pyoro from WarioWare.\u00a0 You move Grunio back and forth on the bottom screen, trying to catch carrots falling from above.\u00a0 But each carrot is a different color and can only be caught for points if your nose is the same color.\u00a0 You change your color by pressing a button.\u00a0 If you miss too many carrots, it\u2019s Game Over.<\/p>\n<p>The second game is a 2-D puzzle platformer where you are in a room and must collect a key and unlock a door.\u00a0 There is also a bonus carrot for you to nab for an extra challenge as well.\u00a0 Grunio can only jump one square high, but luckily there are tools in each stage for you to use.\u00a0 You can do things like place blocks so you can jump higher, or break blocks with a hammer.<\/p>\n<p>The third game is viewed in an overhead perspective and you must make Grunio hop on each block and reach a goal.\u00a0 Some blocks will break after you hop on them, and some take multiple hops to break.\u00a0 There are also blocks that can only be hopped on in a certain direction and more, so you must plan your path carefully.\u00a0 If you mess up too many times, another guinea pig will show you the solution, but you still must do it yourself afterwards.<\/p>\n<p>My only problems with these games is that since they were originally homebrew NES games, they didn\u2019t have save files and you must use passwords to continue your progress.\u00a0 And more explanation how to play would\u2019ve been nice, too.\u00a0 But otherwise, these are fairly decent action puzzle games that I certainly would\u2019ve rented back in the day.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/grunio_scren\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-26228\" src=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/GRUNIO_SCREN.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"500\" height=\"437\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/GRUNIO_SCREN.jpg 500w, http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/GRUNIO_SCREN-300x262.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.gamerdad.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/GRUNIO_SCREN-150x131.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Kid Factor:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Nothing violent or objectionable here.\u00a0 If you mess up, Grunio just falls on its bum.\u00a0 Reading skill is helpful for some of the text, but not necessary just to play.\u00a0 Gruniozerca Trilogy is rated E for Everyone.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Originally homebrew NES games, Gruniozerca Trilogy is a trio of puzzle action games starring a little black guinea pig named Grunio. \u00a0It\u2019s available on most current consoles and PC, but reviewed on Switch here.
