\"\"<\/a>Recently I picked up Super Street Fighter 4 real cheap. I\u2019m a little late to the party because I\u2019m not very good at fighting games and didn\u2019t like the first SF4 that much (definitely not a good fighter for novices). So I decided to wait until the price went down before purchasing the Super edition. Anyway, just as I usually do, here\u2019s a rundown of the new characters in Super Street Fighter 4, and my silly comments about each of them. You can think of it as a spinoff or add-on to a blog I wrote earlier about the original SF4 cast<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

When Super Street Fighter 2 came out in the arcade, it really only had four new characters and stages. And while one of those new characters ended up being my favorite SF character (Cammy), that really wasn\u2019t much of a change from the original. Super Street Fighter 4 has a bunch of new add-ons. Most are online modes. I\u2019m really glad they took out that cheesy theme song with vocals, too. But my favorite addition is the return of the bonus stages from SF2. I was never good at the barrel one, but I loved beating up the car, like in Final Fight. Beating up the car was one of the first (and only) achievements I got in Super SF4. I wish you could do that more often. But the biggest addition is ten new characters! So for this filler blog, here are my silly observations about each one. Oh yeah, all the characters are unlockable in Super SF4, so it was nice to play as the final boss and other characters that I couldn\u2019t unlock earlier.<\/p>\n

T. Hawk<\/strong><\/p>\n

This Native American fighter was one of the new four in Super SF2. He\u2019s super tall and his blows pack quite a wallop! I like his win pose because an eagle comes and sits on his arm. I managed to beat the game with T. Hawk and got a title that I really like: \u201cFriend to Animals.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dee Jay<\/strong><\/p>\n

He\u2019s another guy who was one of the new characters in Super SF2. Know why his pants say MAXIMUM on them? Well, Capcom wanted the pants to say Dee Jay, but the letters in Maximum are symmetric so they could be used if a sprite was facing left or right. So they used that instead so they wouldn\u2019t have to redraw a sprite. You know how Capcom is. The only other thing about Dee Jay in Super SF4 is that he smiles real big and shakes maracas when he wins, like Samba de Amigo.<\/p>\n

Adon<\/strong><\/p>\n

I can\u2019t remember if he was in SF Alpha or SF3, but I\u2019m pretty sure he was a boss in Final Fight. And that\u2019s about all I can say about him.<\/p>\n

Guy<\/strong><\/p>\n

He\u2019s the ninja from Final Fight. He\u2019s all mad because nobody wants to play as him because Mike Haggar was much cooler. The only thing he does in Super SF4 that\u2019s a reference to Final Fight is he kicks some oil drums at the beginning of his fight start animation.<\/p>\n

Cody<\/strong><\/p>\n

Hey, what gives? Why is the hero of Final Fight in striped prisoner clothes and handcuffs? I know he was like that in SF Alpha, too, but I don\u2019t know why. What did he do? Beat up too many bad guys? No, I think he punched too many trash cans and ate too many whole floor turkeys. He has a few references to Final Fight in his moves, like throwing things and a knife you can pick up but I don\u2019t know how. I really like Final Fight a lot.<\/p>\n

Ibuki<\/strong><\/p>\n

She\u2019s a super cool teen ninja from SF3. I love her hair. In the intro, it shows she has a dog which is kind of neat. Her storyline in the game is pretty funny. She just wants to enter the tournament to meet cute guys. Sorry Ibuki, there are no cute guys here. Just cute girls like Cammy, Chun-Li, Juri, and yourself.<\/p>\n

Makoto<\/strong><\/p>\n

She\u2019s just a girl in a karate outfit, so that\u2019s kind of boring. And her moves felt a little slow. I guess the only good thing I can say about her is that she looks really tough.<\/p>\n

Dudley<\/strong><\/p>\n

Basically, Dudley is what you get if you put Balrog in My Fair Lady. I\u2019d watch that. He\u2019s a distinguished and snooty boxer with a handlebar moustache. His punches pack quite a…well, punch. But Dudley\u2019s real power isn\u2019t his boxing ability. In the into story, he\u2019s seen sipping tea and opening the fighter tournament invitation envelope\u2026ALL WHILE WEARING HIS BOXING GLOVES! How does he DO that?!? If you have two Dudleys together, the alternate colors of their outfits make them look like a really buff Mario and Luigi! And the name Dudley just makes me laugh. Was he in Alpha or 3?<\/p>\n

Hakan<\/strong><\/p>\n

I just don\u2019t get this guy. I\u2019ve never heard of Turkish Oil Wrestling. He dumps oil on himself so he can slide around on the ground like a human Slip N Slide. Wheee! He can also squeeze the opponent and they\u2019ll pop out like a slippery bar of soap. But what I don\u2019t get is why he wears a Katamari hat. And why is his skin so unnaturally red? Did he stay in the tanning booth too long? Or does he really like Hellboy? Who knows?<\/p>\n

Juri<\/strong><\/p>\n

She\u2019s my favorite of the new characters in Super SF4. I like her funny hair and outfit. And sometimes when she kicks, little purple things come out and I thought that was cool. Plus she has a special eye that glows purple and gives her powers. And it\u2019s the same eye (left) that I\u2019m blind in myself! And one of her taunts is rather; well, alluring I should say. Only thing I don\u2019t like about Juri is she\u2019s a bad girl villain. I wish she were nice to everyone instead. At any rate, she beat out Rufus as my favorite new SF4 character. But she\u2019s still not as cool as Cammy, Chun-Li, or Dan. Or Juni and Juli in Alpha 3. R. Mika could be cool, but her outfit is a bit too much. Who are your favorite SF4 characters? Even though I\u2019m horrible at Super SF4, I\u2019m willing to go a round or two online if anyone is interested. My 360 gamertag is Klonoa360. Come play against me sometime.
