Diego, Go! Now your kids can have fun helping Diego in a new DS game that combines the adventures from his show with the building fun of Mega Bloks toys.

Mega Bloks: Diego’s Build and Rescue is a simple, kid-friendly 2-D platform jumping adventure. Diego will explore five different environments like the rainforest, arctic, or ocean. In the first section of each world, he’ll have to find parts to build a rescue vehicle. In certain places, you can tap the touch screen to help Diego search hidden areas. Sometimes you’ll need the help of his rescue pack, which can turn into a pogo stick, parachute, zip line, or shovel to help Diego bypass obstacles and solve puzzles. Too bad those are the ONLY things his rescue pack can turn into.

Hidden items are scattered all over these levels. Collect all the Adventure Patches to unlock an Adventure Badge. And there are secret vehicle parts to find, too. In each environment are animals that don’t belong there. Find them all and match them to the right habitat. There are also places where Diego can use Mega Bloks to build ladders and bridges to help him get by.

In the second part of each world, Diego will drive the vehicle he built to rescue an animal. There are hidden goodies to find in these top-down viewed levels, too. Then after that, it’s another 2-D platforming romp to find all the Mega Bloks pieces to build the correct habitat for the rescued animal. To build vehicles and habitats, just use the stylus to drag and drop pieces to match a blueprint.

Kid Factor:

The difficulty level is light and perfect for young kids. You can’t mess up or fail at all. Reading skill isn’t needed as there are spoken instructions and picture cues for every action. Controls are easy as you can use the stylus only or the D-Pad and buttons. Diego’s Build and Rescue also has charming building block styled graphics. Kids can check out Diego’s field journal and learn facts about the animals they’ve rescued, too. Only problem with the game is that there isn’t much to do after finding all the hidden items in each level.
