Use the L and R trigger buttons to shift the world left and right to avoid obstacles and make sure enough of your liquid reaches the exit. You’ll travel through various creative levels, including plumbing pipes, a plant nursery, chemistry lab, and even inside the human body! It’s similar to games like Sony’s Loco Roco, Nintendo’s Fluidity, or like a 2-D version of Mercury.

Some of the obstacles you’ll have to keep your water supply away from include fire, chomping Venus fly traps, lasers, and more. If you lose too much liquid, you’ll have to restart the level over again. Get medals by completing stages quickly and with the largest amounts of liquid possible. Some levels include light puzzle elements, like carrying seeds to plant that’ll help open up new areas.

The main problem with Puddle is that it’s WAY too hard. Levels start getting brutal right away, and while you do have an option to skip levels, you can only do this twice. Puddle would’ve been a lot more fun if it wasn’t so frustrating. It’s a shame since the levels are so creative. Only dive into Puddle if you are looking for a challenge.

Kid Factor:

Puddle is rated T for Teen with ESRB descriptors of Fantasy Violence, Crude Humor, and Mild Blood. Violence only comes from breaking objects with your water glob, and the crude humor and blood only come from the human body levels, assumingly. I’d be OK with any kid playing this game, honestly, but the strongest reason why this game is best for older gamers is the high challenge level.

Puddle is your typical “tilt the world around to move a body of liquid” action puzzle game (downloadable on Xbox 360).
