When all of a sudden, zombies attack! It’s time to get out your shotgun and go on a zombie hunt in this shooter for iPad.

Gameplay is very simple. Just use your left thumb to move your redneck up and down on the left side of the playfield, and use your right hand to aim and shoot by tapping on the screen. Waves of zombies will appear on the right and come toward you. Blast them all to move onto the next wave. If the zombies get too close and whittle your life bar away, it’s Game Over. It’s like a more fast-paced version of Plants vs. Zombies.

As you complete levels, you’ll earn cash to buy extra chances, different guns, and even new outfits and armor for your redneck. There’s even a costume that spoofs Mario Bros! Each day you play, you’ll also get a wad of cash allowance from your grandma. Unfortunately, the best items cost an ungodly amount of cash, and the only way to buy them is to spend real money, or just play for a really long time. Aside from the main Campaign mode, there’s also a Survival mode to see how long you can last.

The graphics are very angular and cartoony, and the humor is tongue-in-cheek. However, the game is also rather difficult (at least to me it was), so only the most dedicated zombie hunters need apply.

Kid Factor:

Reading skill is helpful for the menus and shop, but not necessary as the game is pretty easy to figure out on your own. Even though the graphics are very cartoony, there is still a lot of animated blood and guts splurting around. Because of that and the difficulty, Redneck Revenge is best for teens and older gamers only.

You’re just a good ol’ boy hanging out at the local roadside bar.
