CSI comes to life on your PC with all the cyber-Sherlock Holmes appeal fans just canメt get enough of. If youメre a die-hard fan of the show, hit the buy button now. The game is faithful enough to the show and easily high enough quality that it isnメt a crass attempt to cash in on the show at all. Itメs a well-made game that pays sufficient homage to the showメs license and fanbase.

The game itself is a mystery adventure game. Youメve got to navigate the screens looking for clues or areas that may contain hidden clues. You can use Luminal to find blood traces, you can dust for prints, and you can use the sniffer to get some gas samples. All are familiar tools and methods used in the show. Fans of the show will also likely intuit when and where to use each item while adventure fans will enjoy having such high tech toys. The game follows the structure of the show. You collect evidence, head to the lab, visit the morgue and so on.

CSI offers five quality storylines. Each of which wouldnメt feel at all out of place on the show. While you donメt get to fill the shoes of a known character, you do get to work with each of them along the CSI investigative chain. Show characters join you to provide hints and help you establish the motive, means, and opportunity needed to determine and catch the bad guy. The only complaint here is the whole game is fairly short. The audio is fantastic, and the game uses all the important actors to deliver the dialogue. The graphics engine used to bring them to life is behind the times. Giving us stilted versions of favorite characters with living and breathing voices. It could be better, but it works because the graphics do a good job with the important crime scenes.

Fans of the show will forgive the length and only adequate graphics just because of the quality storylines, use of the real actors, and respect shown the license. Adventure game fans will also appreciate it, even if theyメll find it a bit too easy (itメs aimed at mainstream fans more than hardcore gamers). Regardless, it brings enough true crime class to interest fans and non-fans alike.

Kid Factor
Despite the Mature rating, your biggest problem will be boredom. While the stuff in CSI is grisly it isn't violent or nightmare inducing. Keep it from the little ones and early teens... but if you have a teen with a mystery bent, who likes and watches the show already, then this game is ideal. The show is far more graphic anyway.
