Ah yes, Power Rangers. Kids love ムem, parents loathe ムem. What started in Japan as a breed of live action super hero shows called ムsentai,メ Power Rangers has since become a popular kidメs staple in the US as well. Various incarnations in the Power Rangers series have surfaced, with Ninja Storm being the latest. And they made a PC game out of it.

The PC game is definitely geared toward the younger Power Ranger fan, as the activities in the game are simple exercises in using the mouse. First you pick your Ranger: Red, Yellow or Blue, and use the mouse to drag and drop different kinds of armor onto your Ranger.

Then itメs off to some mini-gamesナerナexcuse me, ムninja training exercises.メ Thereメs a motorcycle race game where you move the mouse to steer around obstacles, a hang gliding game where you push the mouse buttons to go higher or lower, a Breakout clone, a memory match game, and a maze game. You can also print out Power Rangers certificates.

As far as I know, the Power Rangers TV show is still live action, but youメd never know it by playing this game. The graphics and animation are sub-par, and the sound and voices are annoying. The activities are so tedious I canメt imagine anyone seeing them all though to the end, which is supposedly a big モMegazordヤ battle. This game just screams モquick cash-in.ヤ

Kid Factor:
Your kids would have to be really, REALLY big Power Rangers fans to get any sort of enjoyment out of the Ninja Storm PC game. The sluggish mouse controls make the game way too difficult and annoying for just about any kid (or adult). And I canメt see anyone playing all the way through the tedious mini games to the end. There are just so many better kids PC games out there than this.
