War is in your hands The famed series of games set in World War II is now an action game for Game Boy Advance. Gameplay is very reminiscent of classic arcade war games like Commando and Ikari Warriors. Youメll infiltrate beaches and secret command bases all in a 2-D overhead view. Some levels are more stealth oriented and a couple of levels are just shooting challenges as you aim a crosshair to shoot targets. Before each mission is a brief WWII history lesson followed by some stock footage-like grainy black and white FMV from the era. Then you get the mission briefing and start the level. Mission objectives may require you to secure a building or destroy certain items, but it all really boils down to モshoot everythingヤ and モdonメt die.ヤ Youメll wield standard weapons like rifles, machine guns, and grenades and even ride in vehicles like tanks. ![]() Graphics are quite good for the GBA and your character even shows what gun he is holding. Some of the text can be a little small to read, though. Sound and music also fits the setting with voices yelling out things like モAmbush!ヤ and モMan down!ヤ Play control is also simple to learn. You can link Medal of Honor: Infiltrator to the GameCube Medal of Honor: Rising Sun and view level maps for the GameCube game on your GBA screen. There are also multiplayer modes as well. Donメt let my low score fool you. I donメt get into these kinds of games, but if you liked classic war games like Commando or Mercs, this is about the closest thing youメll find to a sequel. Kid Factor: Even though Infiltrator is about a real war and it is rated Teen, the violence is pretty toned down. Defeated enemies just fall over and disappear, with no blood or horrible screams of agony. Kids who enjoy playing with G.I. Joes and other army toys will probably enjoy this game. They may even learn a bit of history if they can stand reading the small text. Only problem is the game is HARD! Even the first level will give young gamers trouble. Itメs difficult to avoid being shot at and the enemies can really gang up on you.
