The ESRB says:
Language: No f-bombs that I found. Mild Suggestive Themes: Girls and cars. It's almost to the point where every PlayStation Portable game review should have a disclaimer at the start indicating that waiting for the game to load will kill any enjoyment the actual play time might provide. Juiced: Eliminator probably isn't the worst offender, but it's bad enough that it saps a lot of the entertainment out of tuning carsラboth import and domesticラand driving them. That time worn cliché of up and coming street racer impressing the rival gangs and starting a gang of his own drives the career mode. It's an ok game when you're behind the wheel and racing for the win, but a silly feature has you stat building your team of drivers and watching them while they race. That's probably just what you want to do with your limited portable gaming time, watch AI races. When racing, controls are sluggish. That's exacerbated by the lack of precision available from the analog nub control method. You eventually come to terms with these faults and find that the graphics aren't too bad, the sound is decent, and the mechanics of career mode can maintain your interest. Then you get the game out a day later and spend your entire ten minutes in menus and listening to the disc spin, never actually racing. That's enough to make you pop it out of the PSP for good. ![]()
As is typical of tuner culture, the women are hot and a little bawdy while the language is always colorful. There's nothing at all offensive on the track. The game saves the Teen rated stuff for your interaction with the other car and team owners. Even then it's not so bad that a ten-year old boy or girl can't handle it.
Kids of that age or older will have no problem handling the car upgrades and financial management involved in supplying cars and new parts to win races. The game features vehicles of many different makes and models, so it definitely gets in a little advertising of various manufacturers of cars and parts. If it weren't for always waiting for the game to load, it's definitely mediocre enough to recommend to people who dig the tuner lifestyle. Comments? Chat about it in our forums!
