The ESRB Says...
Violence: World War II scenarios are re-enacted in non-bloody battles. The classic World War II franchise Medal of Honor lands on the PSP in solid form. Medal of Honor Heroes features fifteen missions fought across three geographical regions, with you taking on the role of three different soldiers. There are a variety of mission types, each with primary and secondary objectives. Completing all primary objectives is mandatory, while completing secondary objectives adds to your rating. Higher ratings unlock loads of optional items for multiplayer. It takes awhile to get accustomed to the controls in the short and sweet single-player campaign. It's a tension filled four or five hours and then you're on to multiplayer. I found several servers with many players ready to engage in smart, honorable gameplay making it enjoyable. This game doesn't knock Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror or SOCOM U.S. Navy SEALs Fireteam Bravo from the top of the PSP shooter heap, but it's a solid addition to the PSP library and a good entry for Medal of Honor on the console. ![]()
Medal of Honor Heroes is fast, immersive and full of frantic action. You are a special operations soldier leading teams on delicate missions aimed at crippling the enemy or tipping the balance of power by retrieving critical intelligence. You are rewarded for using intelligence and tactics, but this is not a thinking game. It's mostly about the shooting. Teen seems appropriate based on the overall experience. What the game lacks in blood and gore is made up by visceral action and a frenetic pace.
