Mild Violence: GamerDad had to defeat enemies to get through areas ヨ but the violence was never extreme nor was it gory.

I enjoyed Tomb Raider Legend on the PC ヨ sure I had some issues with the control scheme, but it was a solid release that I never would have expected to translate well to the Nintendo GBA or DS. Unfortunately I was correct. The new portable versions of Tomb Raider Legend are pretty terrible ヨ side scrolling and platform jumping are things that generally excel on the GBA, but here they are flat and lifeless. There are some interesting mini-games and not much else. There are clunky shooting mini-games for the DS which are not much fun, but the stuff you unlock by completing parts of the game can actually be pretty decent ... more fun than actually playing the game, in fact. The best advice I can give is just to avoid this game on the GBA or DS regardless of the price.

The only objectionable materials in the console versions of Tomb Raider Legend was the language, violence and some of the suggestive matter. Pretty much the only thing that translates to the GBA and DS is the violence, as the language is subdued in the slide-show style cutscenes, and any suggestiveness has been lost between those cutscenes and the blocky and pixilated graphics. Most of the violence comes through in either mini-games or pixilated platform shooting. The most offensive thing is the poor quality of the game.

Which version to buy?
GBA: Reviewed above ヨ if I had to choose, I'd say this was ムbetter', but it still isn't good.
DS: the amount I got to play of this version told me I never wanted to play more.
