The ESRB Found:
Intense Violence: GamerDad found a super-violent shooting game featuring all kinds of 50's era weapons and a few horrific alien ones as well. The violence never stops. Blood & Gore: GamerDad found lots and lots of it. Strong Language: GamerDad found the odd curse word here and there. "Holy Sh*t" etc., - note: it, um, fits pretty well with the intensity of the game. Resistance: Fall of Man is a brutal violent shooter with a terrific plotline and compelling action throughout. The idea here is that in 1951 aliens attacked England and started converting human beings into monsters. The idea is to figure out what they're doing and destroy them in a "last stand" before they're able to spread to the rest of the world. The setting feels like WWII, and it works to the game's advantage in a lot of ways. It's a terrific game and a must play for ADULT PlayStation 3 owners. ![]()
Resistance plays like an "Aliens"-style action movie crossed with "Saving Private Ryan." One of the recurring things that happen is the loss of your buddies. You'll be going along alone and you'll be joined by some fellow soldiers only to watch them get cut down around you in the next brutal firefight. This can be a bit disturbing.
The plotline involves converting humans into horrible monsters and cutscenes don't shrink from the horror of this. It's very creepy. Every action set-peice is extremely intense and the game is relentlessly violent and bloody. Comments? Chat about it in our forums!
