If you let your kids listen to FM radio or watch MTV, they've seen worse. All three of the above indicators are a reflection of the songs and videos, not the game itself.

SingStar Rocks!, the first in this series to reach the United States, arrives with two microphones, the actual artists and their videos. That's a huge advantage against the entrenched singing game series Karaoke Revolution. But then Karaoke Revolution leveled the playing field again by teaming with the American Idol juggernaut.

It plays fundamentally the same as Karaoke. The words fly by and the game judges your pitch, intonation, and timing. It doesn't allow creativity, you must sing the way the original artists sing it, but it works well and can be addictive fun - especially in a party setting.

30 hit songs are included, ranging from Elton John (Rocket Man), Jet (Are you gonna be my girl?), the Police (Every Breath You Take) and even unexpected surprises like the Scorpions with Winds of Change and D.J. Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince's Summertime. Going from Aretha to the Killers is a blast, and the videos give spectators something to watch apart from your jumping around (Karaoke uses sound-alikes and 3D models of your singer instead).

With Eye Toy support, should you want to see yourself singing, and two really solid microphones, this is a solid addition to any videogame party lineup.

SingStar Rocks has some questionable lyrics (nothing you wouldn't hear on daytime radio however and much tamer than most teen's music collections) and the words are broken up to show rhythm, making it a challenge for kids without strong reading skills.
