The ESRB says:
Mild Cartoon Violence GamerDad made characters from the movie shoot robots with pizza guns and meatball blasters, and other crazy antics found in the movie. Meet the Robinsons is Disney's newest full length computer animated feature film, and now you can experience all the time traveling futuristic antics of Wilbur and Lewis on your Game Boy Advance. Three different types of gameplay can be found in this portable title. As Wilbur from the future, jump, run, and roll through 2-D sidescrolling platform jumping challenges. Kid inventor Lewis' levels are an overhead 2-D affair, and involve more block pushing and puzzle solving. Sometimes you'll even pilot the Robinsons' Time Machine in classic 2-D shooter style levels. Scattered throughout the levels are goodies to pick up. Collect blueprints and invention parts to build gadgets to help solve puzzles, overcome obstacles, and defeat pesky derby hat robot enemies. Some of the inventions include the pizza dough gun, meatball blaster, and hover boots. Once you find all the parts to make an invention, play a small mini-game to build it. Destroy all the Doris derby hat robots and collect all the egg timers in each level to unlock other goodies as you play. Graphics reflect the movie about as well as they can on the GBA, but the music is mundane and repetitive and will make you want to quickly turn down the volume. Play control is decent enough. But only the biggest fans of Meet the Robinsons will really dig this GBA movie tie-in. ![]() Other Platforms The Meet the Robinsons video game is on just about every video game platform out there: Nintendo DS, GameCube, PlayStation 2, PC, Sony PlayStation Portable, Nintendo Wii, and Xbox 360. But only the Game Boy Advance version is a 2-D affair. The rest of the ports are a 3-D romp through movie locales and challenges.
The simple, 2-D nature of the GBA version of Meet the Robinsons make it the best version of the game for younger fans of the movie. Violence is only minimal, and only involves shooting robots with silly weapons like the meatball gun. Reading skill is helpful as dialogue and mission objectives are text based. Some younger gamers may need help with some of the trickier jumps and puzzles. Older kid gamers may get bored with the basic and repetitive ムbeen-there-done-that' nature of gameplay in the GBA Meet the Robinsons game.
